I have only been comping since last feb ( so just over a year) , and I have done well so far this year, but never really won any major cash prizes, only on magnum comp. But I agree loads more people comping this year.

I have had a very slow 2010, but 2009 was my best year since I started in 2007 I won over £15000 in prizes in 2009 so I have no case for complaint.
I think there are still a lot of prizes around as competitions can be a relatively cheap marketing & publicity tool for companies. I think what has changed is the number of compers chasing each prize. The number of views for comps posted on here has increased dramatically. If you think that most of those people will have entered, some entering several times , that makes a lot of entries just from this site add that to all the other comping sites and regular customers of the promoters and it makes a lot of compers.

I can remember I used to get regular small prizes like DVDs and CDs on a weekly basis, but not anymore.

It's still all the luck of the draw, and prize wins are possible. So I will keep at it as I am sure many will.
Many thanks to the wonderful staff at Birmingham Childrens Hospital caring for my tiny and very poorly grandson who was born at 29 weeks. Thanks to them he is getting a little stronger every day.:A:A:A

I agree, I think they have tailed off probably due to more people chasing prizes and companies not have the budget to offer big prizes. I think they're is still plenty to enter though, I'm always so behind with my comping lol .

I've been comping for about 2 years or thereabouts...I've won some really decent prizes..so no complaining from me.:D..I agree with the others who say that more people are comping. People are always asking me what sites I go on and how to enter....thing is if they dont win after entering a couple of comps..they get a bit fed up..;)
  • Interesting thread - Been comping just since the start of the year - took me a month to get used to the site! as I am not used to these kind of forums and the formats etc, the thanks button is a god send!! lol
I think the popularity of the site is probably is the downfall ironically! - as the more people that come aboard so to speak - the less chance of "our" names coming out the hat - I have won one price in my 3 months - some flowers which i gave to my mom - But I am still flabbergasted at what some of you guys win!
I am still very much an amateur!! lol - and as the old saying goes - You got to be in it to win it :)

Happy comping folks - (Well not too much as I want to win too!! lol ;)

Oh, here I go :D I have been here since October last year. I have won, 1 set of 6 books, two further books and a lip gloss, not forgetting my Creme egg keyring :)

I think there are definitely many more people entering comps now than before, there has to be. I have noticed new names entering the comps I post recently. Not a complaint, everyone for themselves (It's why it's called a competition, compete against others, best person wins :D)

I am thinking of changing my email though, I am sure that's part of the problem ;) :rotfl: OK, maybe I'm just unlucky!

I joined this site in sept 08 but was a keen comper before this & entered lots of comps but mainly won on local radio & newspaper comps. I also done all the puzzle comps in the mags (wish I had found the lovely korky & tttjay to help me then :D) and strangely enough I only ever won for my mum then. Now since joining here I've won lots of things and also keep a 'wins' book but I haven't won from my local paper since! I would say I've definately won more though! :)
Big thanks to all who contribute to the forums. Be lucky everyone and be safe!
