Did you complain to try get your fiver back? I would/will if it happens.
I had another email after from 'Dean' who said if the money goes missing they'd only class it as missing and look into it after 14 days
Dear xxxxx
Thank you for contacting PayPal regarding your Withdrawal.
I have reviewed your account and it shows on March 30th 2010 you withdrew
£xxxxxx GBP to your Bank Account.
Ms xxxxx when you withdraw funds to your Account it withdraws to the
hour. As today is the 2nd Business day after you withdrew funds you can
expect the funds in your Bank Account by close of business today.
If you are unable to locate the deposit in your bank account and the status
of the transaction is still ‘Completed’ in your PayPal account history, we
can initiate a trace on these funds once 14 working days have passed.
Usually if there is a problem with a withdrawal, it is returned to PayPal
and the funds are reversed back into your PayPal balance. As yet, the
withdrawal has not been returned to us.
We would recommend contacting your bank to enquire about receipt of the
funds. If the funds are still not in your bank account after 14 days,
please contact us and we can then begin a search for the missing funds. For
our contact information, just click the ‘Contact Us’ link at the bottom of
any PayPal page.
Note: You may be required to fax a copy of your most recent bank statement
to us, to assist our search
Please let us know if you require any further assistance.
Yours sincerely,
Dean0 -
Just had another....!
Dear XXXXX
Thank you for contacting PayPal regarding your withdrawal of XXXX
I have reviewed your account Ms XXXX and it shows that this payment is
still pending.
I must apologise for the incorrect information you have received in the
past. The faster withdrawal does take 1-2 working days from when it
completes however as your payment is still pending this timeframe has not
begun yet.
When your bank accepts this transfer this timeframe will begin. If this
timeframe is exceeded your £ fee will be refunded to you.
I understand your frustration regarding this matter and regret any
inconvenience this might have caused.
Yours sincerely,
Peter

This is getting absolutely ridiculous! Paying extra to get my own money that doesn't look as though it's going to clear until approx Tues/Wed because of Easter! Their customer service is atrocious at the best of times.0 -
LOL so its only 1-2 days after your bank accepts the transfer?! What a joke... must be a april fool0

Seems it, so it can be anytime they fancy - like the normal route so er... not 1-2 days as they say, but they take a fiver off you for this one.0

From what I know Paypal do their part and the rest is up to the banks. As is said a lot on this site, financial institutions tend to make up rules (and change them) as they go. From bank to bank and then from account to account the rules differ and when you get your hands on your own money is often a lottery.Christmas_ wrote: »Seems it, so it can be anytime they fancy - like the normal route so er... not 1-2 days as they say, but they take a fiver off you for this one.
I withdraw Paypal funds to two different banks, Santander and BOS/Halifax, Santander is on average 1-2 days quicker..0 -
It still hasn't cleared yet so we appear not to be even on the processing stage and given that Easter is in the middle - not likely to be for a while.0

Well, nearly 72 hours and nothing, though with it being good friday I wasn't expecting a change. The thing that grates the most is that it's still on pending and hasn't hit completed yet. If it was on completed it'd make me feel a lot more at ease.
On the plus size, within the next three business days (prob next thurs) my fiver is being refunded

Sorry for replying yet again - but just wanted to update that it has literally just completed. So fingers crossed tomorrow the money might be in - otherwise it's prob Tues.0

Thanks very much, I'm hoping it's automated but just know it's on the way makes me feel a lot better, I've kept my buyers informed and so hopefully the feedback and DSR's won't be as bad as they might...!
Also had this back literally a few mins ago after contacting them through twitter:
Dear XXXXXXXXXXXXX
Thank you for contacting PayPal, my name is Michelle and I am with
PayPal's Executive Escalations. I sincerely apologise for the
frustration this matter has caused. I have reviewed your Account and
would like to offer the following information in response to your
enquiry.
You attempted to withdraw XXXXX GBP via a Quick Withdrawal and paid a
£5.00 GBP fee to withdraw the funds via that method. Due to an issue
with this type of bank transfer this withdraw was pending from 30 March
2010 to 2 April 2010.
We deeply regret the obvious inconvenience this situation has created.
We are crediting back the £5.00 GBP fee you paid for the withdrawal. You
should see the funds in your bank account within the next one to two
days.
Again, I sincerely apologise for any inconvenience this situation has
caused. Please feel free to contact me directly at xxx@paypal.com if
you have any further questions or concerns.
Sincerely,
Michelle

The 'issue' interests me, wonder what it is. Also it appears the higher you go the better the customer service is with Paypal.0
