what is my down load speed

its running better now but is this right,,, Ive got 13113kbps down load and only 813 kbps upload ,,,, what do these upload and down load figures mean ,, i take it now Ive got a massive down load ,, but the upload seems low??? the figures are talk talks speed test0

It means you are getting about 13Mbps download, and 0.8Mbps upload. Download is always much higher because (for domestic use) that's the direction that most of your data needs to flow. That's why it's called A(Asynchronous)DSL.
Try www.speedtest.net for a more reliable speed test.
If it's not still dropping out, then it would appear that the extension lead was the culprit.No free lunch, and no free laptop

Residential ADSL and Cable services have a typical 50:1 contention ratio i.e. your download speed is faster than your upload speed.
