Can I suggest you also try swapping the filter? They do go bad, and the ones TT supply are cheap and nasty.
Just swap with a known good filter and see if it makes any difference. Also make sure that every acttive extension is filtered-this includes Sky boxes, burglar alarms, etc.

You say it's dropping 3 times, is that only when the phone is picked up?
To isolate your house wiring properly, you need to repeat the test from the BT test socket, which is behind the faceplate on your master socket. Just remove the faceplate by undoing the 2 screws securing the lower half, hinge it forward-the BT test socket is behind there.
If you don't have a modern horizontally split NTE5 master socket, ignore this.

There is always an alternative - you can tell them that if they don't get it sorted you will be cancelling and taking your business elswhere. It won't fix what is probably a line fault but at least you may get a decent ISP and get to talk to somebody who doesn't wipe his elbow with Andrex every morning.
  • it's really difficult to get advice off them,, especially if your not good with tec terms in computing,, they ask about the modem its make then check your contract and other useless things and then but you on hold and cut you off
  • whats happened now?? i seem to be getting some were,, since i unplugged the phones and moved the modem its just speed ed up after about 30 Min's and it not going down??? hope its not wishful thinking,,,

There were two completely separate problems. Running your modem on a long plugin extension is going to pick up electrical noise which will slow the connection down and at times cause it to drop. If you've moved your modem to the master that problem is fixed (although there could still be other ringwires connected).

You also said that if somebody calls your number the adsl drops. That is normally caused by a line fault but to rule out the possibility of it being a problem with filters you must check that everything is filtered. If it is then you have to report this as a fault through your ISP. Don't let the bloke you call give you the run around. They will want you to check your filters. Tell them that has been done (assuming it has). Don't let them walk over you - most of the dipsticks on ISP front end support have very low skill levels.

Are you now saying that it's nothing to do with the broadband dropping out when the phone is used?
You may have disconected your extension phones, but if you test from the front of the master socket (as opposed to the BT test socket-which you don't have) then all your extension wiring is still connected.
The purpose of using the BT test socket (if you had one) is to test the side of the network for which BT are responsible. A fault anywhere else is down to you.
