Just checking in and saying hi and thanks for the kind wishes

I am ok where I am, and constantly walk around with my wind up light in my pocket, so if things go I am a little prepared. I must get onto my " in case of power surge" emergency box. I have been talking about it for too long! (and have lost power twice since he he)
Not much to report here - I am spending a fortune on food and can't stop buying stuff. Please someone help me! It is making me feel a bit insane. I just seem to like squirelling stuff away and buying new things for recipes, rather than using what I have. I have just checked my CC and have spent a ridiculous amount on food in the last week! I have so little to focus my days on, food becomes my obsession
Still job hunting and OS-ing. Making some minestrone soup tomorrow and maybe some wheaten bread. Brother said my minestrone is delicious and neighbour said it's the best soup I've ever made
(using a version of Delias)
Hugs to all who need or maybe just want one
Hoping Pink is ok and will be online soon.A little nonsense now and then is relished by the wisest men

Good evening everyone!
I've not been on for a few days it's been very busy with hospitals  DS3 was in hospital on Saturday & Sunday after going on his friends trampoline on Saturday morning. He came in for his lunch looking very pale & complaining of a headache. I wasn't too worried until he said that he could see but that it was very blurry and he started to be very sick. We went down to the emergency doctors who sent us up to the childrens ward at the hospital. He had a battery of tests looking for any brain abnormalities although thankfully nothing out of the ordinary was found. It was decided that he either had a form of labrynthitis due to the trampoline and the headache was a symptom of his brain being shook around whilst jumping :eek::eek: or that he has started with migraines. I hope that it isn't the migraine option, having suffered with them myself for years I wouldn't wish them on anyone. He's fine now though, eating well & generally running around happily :T
I got a phone call in the wee hours of this morning to say that my Dad was at the hospital with chest pains. I went up straight away to be with him & Mum and have been there all day. It turned out to be more digestive problems than cardiac ones this time thank God as his back went on Monday & he's been taking some anti inflammatory tablets that have reacted badly with the host of other medication he's on since his stroke & heart problems last year. What a few days
:(
I'm hoping that the rest of the holidays will pass without event
I'd quite like some routine days now if possible!
Floss & Boo :bdaycake::bdaycake: Happy Birthday to you both xxx
Hugs to anyone who I've missed in the last few days & love to everyone xxxx0 -
:hello::hello: Big wave Laura, keep meaning to pm you but get distracted. My BF freezes her CC in a bag of water to stop her using it unneccesarily, why not try that then you might empty those store? Big smooch to you!
(in a purely platonic way, of course!)
SunnyGirl, :grouphug: dodgy hug for you and yours, what a horrible couple of days, do you need one of these?
I have done almost s0d all, too busy on here gossiping.

Evening peeps
I hope that everyone is ok.
Sunnygirl....what a worry for you these things always seem to happen all at once I hope DS and your Dad are on the mend (((((hugs))))))
Candygirl..........Happy 1st Birthday to Boo, they really grow quickly, where did that year go:eek:
Zippy...... Thought we'd lost you in a snow drift somewhere the weather on the Emerald Isle looks awful, I hope that you are keeping warm. Good luck with the job hunting x
But STAY AWAY FROM THE SHOPS!
Bargainbird....... Comisserations hun as you know ours failed too. I don't know about prices in your area but they are horrendous here - the last time we had tyres they cost £56  each and it is only a little peugeot.
JackieO......I saw that on the news she was only 14 and I too think that the school should have called the trip off....honestly the schools are so tied up with H&S and beauracacy you would think that a risk assessment on the day would have been prudent.
Lowsey..Glad things are sorted with SD it sounds like someone was trying it on big time, I hope DH had a good day today
NPM .... There you are
it was nice to hear that you had a good birthday and I hope that Noah is ok x x x
Lone Wolf ...Where are you? HOOOOOOOOOOWWWWL.
Topsyturphy......sorrry to be the bearer of bad news but I have heard April is not going to be good weatherwise
csarina.... I agree with a little back up battery on heating boilers what use are they if you can't start them  At least you are Lucky enough to have a wood burner.......keep warm and safe x
Well the wind is howling and we have intermitent hail here and it is bloomin' cold so I have had a nice warm shower and snuggled into my winter fleecy pjs and big dressing gown and fluffy bed socks. I look like a fluffy pilsbury dough man :rotfl: but I am toasty so I don't care.:)
The shops were busy today and I thought that I could get away with loads of panic buyers shoving into me by going early - good job I had my ickle fold up Scooter - If I was on my sticks I would have been pushed over - that has happened quite a few times
Oh well I think I have run out of gossip take care everone sleep tight xBlessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

Sunny, what a terrible few days you have had, hope everyone recovers soon xx0

Hi peeps,
just nipped on for a quick catchup
Happy Birthday Boo! - missed that earlier.
SunnyG - Hope that things improve for you and your family.
Still freezing cold here, i`ve not looked at tomorrows forecast yet but i`m hoping that its better than today, i`ve had to crank up the heating after spending weeks tapping down the thermostat.
Csarina - at least the power is back on now, hope that it stays on for you. Your woodburner must be a godsend. I remember spending a good few evenings in the kitchen with the gas burners on years ago when our electricity was more off than on. A few of our neighbours had replaced theirs with electric ones and had no heat at all. Its always good to have an alternative source of heat than electricity. We only had an electric fire back then and we practically lived in the kitchen.
Off for a browse now.
See you all tomorrow.
SDPlanning on starting the GC again soon
