HSINhouseWindow02HL.gif Hi there! This is the Daily Thread for Wednesday 31st March. It is an 'Over the garden fence' type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new Daily Thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two Dailys' live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new Daily Thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “Hi everyone, hope you are all well” type start is just as good.
Morning lovely OS-ers!

Stroppyjock - I have to confess I love maps of all kinds. I did not use google as requested which wasn't a hardship as we normally use Multimap and so now I know where Conicavel is! (and wow it's a long way north!)
lowesy - Hard to know what to say re your stepdaughter but I hope your husband doesn't end up paying out £1000 out of guilt.
Kitchenbunny - My OH tends to name random objects too. We have a Peace Lily called Colin and the hoover is called Mike (Dyson). Every year the turkey is given an alliterative name - Tommy, Timmy, Torquil and Terence have been the last four years efforts! Hope your cough gets better soon hon.
Ivy - I am going to google NZ frogs now and have a read!
redruby - my OH is 6ft 4 1/2 so he does all the ceilings and I also lend him out to friends as a 'Professional Tall person' when they need one.. giggle.gif
jet - I always do that with half my twinks mix... it's fab for when you want a biccy in just 10 mins!
JackieO - Did you watch 'Lets dance for Sports Relief' the other week? The actor that plays Joseph in Holby was on there and he is not a bad little mover. Found the video HERE just in case you missed it.
Manc - Hope your brother in law responds to treatment well.
My OH has been coughing non stop for two days and yesterday was running a temperature but he still went to work. However, he has been coughing most of the night and was really burning up, so am hoping he won't go in today. Bet he does his evening gig though, he is self employed for that and he knows we need the money.
Was a lovely sunny spring day here yesterday right through til 1500 when it went dark and then it began raining cats and dogs. Now it is blowing a gale and really chilly so it doesn't bode well for the rest of the day.
HShungry.gif Breakfast will be tea and toast. Lunch will be toasted cheese and chilli chutney sandwiches, in HB bread and dinner will be sausage casserole.
Hope you all have a good day. With love, light and warm gentle HShuggies.gif to anyone who wants one.

    Hi everyone :D

Im sorry Ive not been here for a few days :( I have been so busy. The wkend was spent sewing a buttercup bag ready for my night out with the girls at work (chef's hen night, so should be fun :D)

I have also done some extra shifts at work as they are short staffed at the mo. It was manic at the play center. I dont know how the girls do it :rotfl: . I like my cleaning job after as its quiet and I can dance around with Henry on my own :rotfl:

Today Im going to help out in the kitchen, not sure if Im going to survive if it gets bust or if the chef will be sitting in a corner and shouting ''get her out of here'' after the lunch time rush hehe.

Im away to my mum's in Norfolk for the Easter wkend so a bit of a rest and catch up with my sisters :D

Not sure if I will get here again till next wk (I will look in quick at times) so I hope everyone is well and happy and ((hugs)) for those who need them.

WM is on and a quick tea tonight of jacket spuds with cheese and beans and HM apple pie I have taken out of the freezer :D

Kind wishes and hugs to all :D

    Hxxx

Morning all, very windy last night and this morning but thankfully we seem to have mised the snow so far.

No TV signal, either analogue or digita,l this morning  so steaming news through laptop, looks like travel chaos all over Scotland today, sooo glad I'm not at work!! :p

Lunch today is soup and sandwich, tea is pork chops and veg, then a visit to my big sis in nearby Arbroath, just had nice breakfast of two whoopsied (10peach) chocolate croissants and fresh coffee.

Expect a lot of entries from me today if tv doesnt come back on!

:bdaycake: Happy Birthday Floss and Mrs mw I hope you both have a great day x

Stroppyjock.......You timed your holiday just right! Now I have to eat my words about men and timing:rotfl:

Windy, Damp and cold here too this morning

Going shopping today because I hate the madness that Bank Holidays bring :( We usually go on a Thursday or Friday but I have the hospital early tomorrow and it's my Birthday on Friday so today is really the only day I can go.

Lunch today is a request from DH of parsnip and apple soup with HM crusty bread and dinner tonight is chilli and rice

Oh well better get cracking and get dressed because his nibs will be home soon.

Take care and keep warm all x x
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

    Morning All ,

stroppyjock - thanks for the strike info :) DH has said that if there is another strike he'll just drive  Please NOOOOOOO I don't want to be in a car with him for 5 hours!!!!!!!!!

An update on the situation with my SD - DH has told his ex that he was planning to give SD £200 when she'd saved up and bought a car of her own, so that is what he will give her (the ex) and tell SD she's missed out. The ex didn't say anything more about the fact that it was "meant" to be £1000 so DH took this to mean that either it was the ex trying it on, or she'd spoken to SD who admitted it wasn't true. Why do people lie? The truth always always comes out *sigh* He's also made it clear that he's not happy with her, so they're going to be having words at the weekend - I think SD2 and I may just hide somewhere for a while ;)

DH is armed with a shopping list today and is off to do the Tesco shop. Gotta love how his days off in lieu are lining up exactly with when we need some more shopping - I didn't plan it honest :D. He's also got his first appearance at the Public Carriage Office today, so positive vibes for him please! Once he's done this, he can actually get out and about and start learning the routes. Am also hoping that he'll manage to make some tea tonight, but either way it'll be egg and chips :)

Have a nice day, hugs to all xx

I did an online shop yesterday with Mr T, due to arrive today, just so I can avoid that madness! Just fresh stuff to pick up on Saturday as we're out all day Friday.
