i cant do photos but i have just looked in the cupboard and mine are non stick loose bottomed tins 8" by 13/4" deep i bought these when delia said to use deeper tins, before that i used the shallower ones and they worked okay its just that the cake will rise more in a deeper tin, i think you had ones on your list at £2.99 i said would be fine

Yeah, they were very similar to the 89p ones, so I went for cheap in case they don't see a lot of use. I keep ignoring your advice and then really wishing I hadn't. :o
If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.

This may seem like a strange question. What size is the yoghurt pot or cream pot for that matter? In ml's.

    Yoghurt = 150g
    Sour cream = 142ml

I have got a set of scales and a measuring jug, if that's what you're thinking. :D

Lakeland These are mine. They are expensive but I've had them over 10 years so they have more than paid for themselves.

    But which ones?

See, I just knew you'd take it badly......
Anyway, the 89p ones will be just fine. When are you baking? (I'm hungry for cake...)

Ok...one simple question...all I need is a yes / no answer. Can I make the chocolate yoghurt cake in the tins I have got?

    I say yes.

I have those tins - theyre not the flashiest in the world but you can make a cake in them. Just grease them well and put greaseproof paper in the bottom of them.

Now go get on with it and let us have a picture

    :D

A cup is measured in fluid oz's ml's etc. Its to do with the quantity not the weight. :p

    1 cup = 250mls
    1/2 cup = 125mls.

If you empty your yoghurt in to something else when you start cooking. Wash the pot. Measure 125 mls of water into the pot and mark or cut the top off to this level you have your 1/2 cup measuring container for your ingrdients. Is this making sense?

you have your ingredients, your mixer, give my all in one sponge a go, grease ( with marg) and bottom line your tins, and away you go, wont take long, sandwich it with some jam, butter icing is a good filling too but you wont have any icing sugar and i am betting you wont be back at morrisons for a while:D
