OK, deep breath and start again.

A bit of a bad day yesterday:

    Spends:

Sainsburys £32 - most of which was new clothes that the girls definitely needed as growing out of old ones
Amazon £33 - this was for a birthday present for DD1, and comes out of the ebay money I'd earned
Factory shop £8 - bits and pieces for birthday party

    Food:

Did consider not confessing this but am only cheating myself, so here goes:

    Gravy 2 sins
    Yorkshire pud 4 sins
    Fruit pastille lolly 4 sins
    so far so good

Toffee crunch lollies x 3 eaten in the space of about 20 minutes while DH in the bath :o:o:o - don't know how many sins but too many

Think this is just a "time of the month" blip and will move on. Have done a lot of running around this week so hopefully I'll get away with it and not have a gain on Monday.

I feel like its all going wrong at the moment :(*Long moaning post warning - look away now*

Personal account is hanging on by its fingernails, have just had to xfer money from business account that was earmarked for VAT payments to bring it within overdraft limit. I also have to pay £290 for DS's guitar lessons by 21st May + £31 for a school trip - these are both expenses I didn't know were coming up until we got a letter from his new school the other day.

We have several unpaid invoices for March and one still o/s from Feb. The Feb one is for a very small job we do for a huge multi-national customer and I find it really frustrating, though not at all surprising, that they can't get it together to pay us on time.

DH hasn't had enough cash jobs this week so I can't add to my cash funds - he doesn't have much cash work booked for next week either

Grocery shopping seems to be creeping up and I don't know how to rein it in, I seem to have slipped back into spending money every day again

I've got loads of things to do - 2 tax returns plus loads of home adminy type things that I just can't seem to get started on. Loads of ebaying to do if I'm going to meet my target.

Right, that's enough, I'm getting on my own nerves - I'm a "cup half-full" person, so I'm going to go and give myself a quick slap around the face then come back and edit this post to put the positive spin on it.

Today is a new, more positive day :D I spent some time updating and prioritising my "to do" list yesterday and even managed to cross a few things off, having realised that was a better idea than wasting my time moaning on here about how much I had to do! I'm not going to bother keeping it on here as that just doubles up on updating it.

Spent about £15 on groceries yesterday, mainly because my meal plan went a bit pear-shaped during the week. One of the items on my to do list is to sort out my weekly shop properly so this doesn't happen again.

Didn't do to bad on the eating front yesterday, despite the hormones, had a small slice of coffee cake and a toffee crunch so stayed more or less within sins limit. Weigh-in tomorrow, will be happy if I've managed not to gain weight and ecstatic if I've lost.

The figures do look bad at the moment, this first week of the month is always a problem because our outgoings start before our incomings do! I am taking steps towards sorting it out though, so onwards and upwards!

    Business Account Balance 298
    Business Account Outgoings pending 551
Personal Account Balance -1286 (I think this figure includes about £400 of DD's that I'll be able to take off the outgoings pending on Tues)
Personal Account Outgoings pending 2420 (this includes savings, CC payments, shopping budgets & £290 music tuition)
Personal Account incoming pending 1242 (this doesn't include my wages as they vary a lot, get paid on the 8th + DS1's dad should be making a contribution towards music tuition soon)
    Invoices Pending 1530
Invoices Overdue 830 (I have done a bit of "stern but fair" chasing so hoping these will be paid soon)

    Total Incoming 2614
    Total Outgoing 2071
    Leftover -357

It was DD1's pre-school funday yesterday, which I helped to organise. Unfortunately that meant I had to be there all day and was forced to eat and spend too much. I'm not sure exactly how much I spent but it was between £10 and £15.

    Sins:

2 cheeseburgers with sauce and mustard - would have been ok on SW if I hadn't ate the buns but I couldn't help myself
A large piece of carrot cake - absolutely delicious and very light, probably quite healthy actually as one of my 5 a day ;)
Still had a toffee crunch lolly in the evening as well - think that was the last one and definitely not buying any more!

I've got to go and get weighed this morning - going to power walk there with DD2 in the buggy, its about a a mile and a half so it might help a bit.

Going to the cinema this afternoon with my eldest two so no NSD for me today, should be able to get my first one for May tomorrow though as have decided on a free afternoon at the park instead of swimming this week.

So the figures look better than they did, but still not brilliant. Will have to transfer a bit from the business account to cover DD's etc that might come out before I get paid on Saturday.

    Business Account Balance 208
    Business Account Outgoings pending 561
    Personal Account Balance -991
    Personal Account Outgoings pending 1987
    Personal Account incoming pending 1052
    Invoices Pending 1530
    Invoices Overdue 830
    Total Incoming 2629
    Total Outgoing 2548
    Leftover 81

I was supposed to be getting a weekly shop delivered tomorrow but had to cancel it as the money just isn't there. I've got £30 in my purse and there's £30 in our cash box so (providing DH doesn't need any of it) I can put £20 petrol in and work out a new meal plan & go to Morrisons to get what we need for £40. This will probably end up saving me money and teaching me a lesson in feeding us more cheaply, so its a good thing!

    Spent loads yesterday:

Groceries £14 (that did include some stuff that I can use for a couple of meals this week so not bad)
Slimming World £4.95 (stayed the same, phew - am determined to lose at least 1lb this week though)
    Pictures £21
    Paper bill £4.85

I couldn't believe how expensive it is to go to the cinema - £21 for one adult and 2 kids. DD1 didn't even like Nanny McPhee, after having nagged me to take her for weeks - she thought it was too scary and spent the whole film sitting on my lap saying "I want to go home" in a loud voice. I got them to take sweets & bottles of water with us though so I didn't spend any money on junk.

Today is going to be an NSD, taking the kids to the park for an hour then need to get this shambles of a house under control.

Yesterday was a bit of an eye-opener for me. I managed to get everything I needed in Asda for £41.06. Obviously there were things I had on my Tesco home-delivery list (£110) that I just didn't buy, but apart from fresh veg that I'll get at the weekend I've got everything I need for the weeks meals - decent reasonably healthy meals, no junk food. Admittedly I had quite a bit of meat already in the freezer so I'm under no illusion that I can do this every week but I'm definitely going to try and reduce the main weekly bill down a bit more. I started off at £130-150 per week, and have got it in the £100 to £110 range since keeping this diary. I'm going to try and get it down to £70 to £80. Got to keep and eye on the supplementary shop though - currently £10 to £20 so my budget there is going to be £5 to £15. The key point for me is that I don't want to reduce the quality of our food - chicken and eggs have to be free-range, we have to have oily fish at least once a week and I have to always have plenty of fresh fruit - but I think it can be done.

Also got petrol yesterday £20 so total spend was £61.06. Should get that elusive NSD today - mainly because I have no money whatsoever so couldn't spend any if I wanted to!

I'm keeping an eye on my sins this week too:

    Monday - 1 cornflake cake
    Tuesday - 1 FAB lolly

I really really want that 2 stone award next Monday.

Slept until 7.30am today, which is very late for me, so didn't get a chance to update my diary for yesterday.

    Yesterday
    Had an NSD
Stuck to sins again, just had a fruit pastille lolly (4)

    Today
    Spent £20.40 on groceries
Had some pesto, not sure how many sins that is and am planning to have another lolly later on. So providing I don't accidentally binge on chocolate between now and bedtime I've been an :A again!

Have discovered a couple of credit cards that I'd acquired and not used and have applied for balance transfers - one at 0% till Jan and one at 6.9% for the life of the xfered amount. Once these go through I'm only left with £1151 on Amex at a high interest rate so will have to blast it with any spare money (ha!) to get rid of it asap.
