8 weeks pregnant and starving - what to do?

I do sympathise OP - I was the same when pregnant with DS - and if I didn't eat starchy stuff (only food that seemed to do the trick) I felt quite sick.
Do eat but try and make sure it's not too calorie laden (I put on a hell of a lot of weight with DS and then had to shift it afterwards)
I wonder if your having a boy?! - old wives tale probably but I was told that the constant wanting to eat was consistent with expecting a little boy and god knows after I had him he certainly picked up where I left off!

Yes it's normal but please mention it and, more importantly, the overwhelming thirst to your GP and midwife as it may indicate a problem with your blood sugars. (I had GD and DS2 was just shy of 10lb as a result.)Eat food. Not too much. Mostly plants - Michael Pollan
