SORRY - I know there has been chat about this before, but I just can't find it! have just got my brand new Panasonic, I am v v excited! My only concern was the big lump of butter the recipe called for, and I'm sure I read somewhere that you can use olive oil instead?
Can anyone tell me if that is possible, and if so how much I should use in place of 1/2oz butter?
Thanks!

I use 3 tablespoons of olive oil in all my bread recipes in the breadmaker.0

I'm sure you can use oil.
A fluid ounce weighs the same as a solid ounce. An ounce is 28 g/ml so 15 ml sounds about right. 15 ml is also equal to 1 tablespoon;)0 -
There's a good "ciabatta" recipe in the Panasonic instructions which uses 3 tbsps of olive oil rather than butter.
My DH prefers this loaf as it is lighter than the buttered breads

Hi. I always use oil in my breadmaker 2 table spoons in for making bread.
I don't bother with the milk powder and just use half of the sugar that they say to use. My bread was absolutely cr*****p before i asked these guys on here for some advice. My instruction book was useless there were so many misprints for the recipes eg My bread always tasted sweet the manuel said 2 tablespoons of sugar. when it should have been 1 or 2 teaspoons anyway i asked these guys and they suggested cutting the sugar down. My bread is brilliant now. But to get back to your question, yes use sunflower oil. Any problems and we will help you out.

Thank you so much!
OK 1st loaf just made on panasonic rapid bake setting - the crust is yummy but inside esp at the top it is quite sticky and moist, almost like it's not cooked properly - any suggestions?!

Also forgot to ask, I'm presuming that the oil you are all using is as a substitute for the butter in the recipe?0
