I am also looking at a new phone, but do not want to pay a fortune for it so will be looking into the HTC ones more (have to admit I have not heard of the make before). Do they offer push email as that is something I am keen on.

I've had a HTC magic for a year now and as I work in the mobile industry, I've seen many sold and not many back. Yes, they do support push email. It uses Microsoft's ActiveSync platform so it works with most email addresses. You're better with the HTCs that are Android based as there are some windows based ones around but they are more complicated and less like the iphone.

IPhone is alot easier to use, and as TG stated a few posts back, you can download some really good applications that can help you out even more.

With my iPhone, I can get email alerts, can link directly to the alerts thread and see what has been put. I can then follow a bookmark on my phone to an MS website where my login details are stored, straight into the members area so I can accept/decline work.
When on jobs, for RE I have the camera which I can send the pics to my email at the touch of a button, ready to submit with my report. You can use the inbuilt notepad program or download the one that TG recommended to make writing your notes even easier.

I would never go to another make of phone now I have had an iphone

Well, I've had a blackberry, Iphone and HTC.

Blackberry's are great for emails but takes awhile to get use to.

Iphones are easy to use, have great apps but the 2 drawbacks are the signal and the price. The signal strength is quite poor compared to other phones so if you live in any area where you only get one network (poorly) or you hardly get any signal with your current phone. I wouldn't switch unless you're on vodafone, you can get a sure signal, something that guarantees your signal. Secondly, the price. It's expensive and there are other phones out there that do the same things now. It was a breakthrough product but unless they bring out something revoluntionary, the Iphone is the same as everything else now.

Htc are great aswell. They have apps, they can multitask and the cameras are a better megapixel than the iphone (on most HTC on the market now) Drawbacks are less downloadable apps but there's still a lot.

At the end of the day, anyone who's undecided, go into your local phone shops and get a demo of the handsets and so to say, test drive them. Everyone is different, it really depends on what features you want, if you're bother what they look like. My next upgrade will not be the Iphone again. Everyone I work with has an Iphone, I want to be different and frankly, I'm sick of paying a high price for minutes and texts that I'll never use when there are phones that do the job for less.

    LOL All typed out now!

A petrol job has come up on Gap near me, I hadn't done the training before so I have just read through it all and passed the test. But the drop down box for dates stays short and wont drop down with any dates iyswim. Has anybody come across this before.

I wondered if it might be that there were no dates left to do it? A travel agent has also appeared and only has tomorrow to do it. Don't think I will do that one though, did it before so not sure if my details will still be on the system and the travel agent kept on ringing me for weeks afterwards last time, I stopped answering the phone in the end.

On the subject of phones I have recently got a Blackberry and am still getting to grips with it. Is there anything that anyone can recommend that will make it more helpful to me, any pointers?

    Thanks.

I just use a different name/postcode when I do one again and make an "mistake" when I give my phone number and get two digits the wrong way round (well it is not my fault that they entered it wrong is it ). What I am not sure about is how linked the computer systems are between different shops in the same chain so if you have be careful if you go into another store??
