I obviously live in the wrong place - there's 0 jobs here:(

Yeah, well, unfortunately, most of those I can see have to be done by Friday and I'm at work for the rest of the week so can't do them anyway. But it's nice to be able to actually see some at last!

    Mortgage-free Glee!
Apologies if this has already been mentioned, but my brain is fried after a LONG day at work and I cannot bear to read through 148 pages.

I have received an e-mail from a 'bird's name' consultancy, based in Shropshire, offering me the 'chance' to join up as a mystery shopper.

Following the link to the sign up form brings you to what they classify as a 'test': doing a mystery shop on a jewellers, and submitting it. Only when you have done the visit, and submitted the report, do they decide if you have 'passed'.

Now, I may just be naturally cynical, but is this company basically angling for people who will do free mystery shops for them? I do not see any mention of payment for doing the mystery shop.

Anyone with the ternerity to respond, it would be appreciated!:)

    You're talking about Tern?

No worries - loads of us on here have done the trial visit - it's just for them to see your style of writing, whether you pick up the sort of info they want - and lots of us do lots of work for them.

    Go for it!!

You are allowed to mention the companies name but not the clients, So.... the company is TERN and they are very reputable. Yes you do have to do dummy test run for them 1st but if you are accepted you can apply for their paid work.

And not the only company that ask for that sort of dry run either, it's important to add.

    +1.

It's worth noting, mademoiselle, that TERN's report-writing standards are much MUCH higher than those of the likes of RE and GAP. They expect a LOT of detail and correct spelling and grammar. You will be fairly rewarded though, don't worry; their fees are a fair amount of money for a fair amount of work, unlike Retail Eyes who, 99% of the time pay peanuts.

How annoying is this - got email saying more jobs on GfK, so had a look and yes, there's lots of cars and a good fee. Got all excited, about to apply and realised your car must be under 5 years old - we've got 2 old bangers so can't do :( - no fair! Seems I'm either too old, too tall, drive too old a car .... I could go on!

Jobs I did earlier went well so that's good news anyhow.

Given that these visits are competitor visits, it is doubtful you would ever be found out. The reason they specify this is so the salesman/woman you speak to believes that you're actually there to spend decent money on a car (weird logic if you ask me!).

I might give them a call tomorrow and ask them just how essential this requirement is, cause I could potentially do 3 of these on Friday. :-)

Hi there I am interested in the car visits and my current car is a 2008 model but cannot see any jobs for cars at all. Are they nationwide? :)
