  • Re Helion payments
I've only done a couple of jobs and they didn't cost me anything so I'm not too stressed about it. I was made redundant earlier this year and now work as a freelance consultant - sometimes I get paid early, which is lovely :), but often I am paid beyond my requested 30 days. Swings and roundabouts. Whilst I understand that it's frustrating for people not to receive their payments when they hope to, we are freelancers and payment date will never be guaranteed in the way it is when you are a permanent PAYE employee. Anyway, let's hope Max doesn't let us down and it all gets sorted.......:)

Likewise - I don't need the money and in mystery shopping I'm pretty used to slow payment - this is nothing new (I also seem skilled at doing work at the very beginning of months so that payment can take anything up to 8 weeks within their own payment timeframe). Equally, PAYE is never a dead cert - it wasn't so long ago I was paid 10% of what I was due from a "real" employer thanks to an error.

I haven't received my flight money either - it's still showing as 'pending'. Thanks for the info UKmonkey and Blindman - I'll have to give them a call and see what's happening with my payment.

Agreed, this is the confidentiality clause:

    (1) disclose the names and/or locations of xxx clients to anyone; (2) convey the results of their findings with anyone other than xxx; (3) contact xxx client's management or other personnel in regard to the project (unless expressly authorised to do so in writing by xxx); (4) use any of xxx or its clients' information or materials for purposes other than the agreed-upon project.
I wouldn't mention their assignments even obliquely, but I don't consider mentiong their invoicing procedures as breaching confidentiality.

I've removed the name to protect the 'delicate' sensibilities of others on the forum.

    I agree:

I don't work for Associa  but if I did I would not mention anything about assignments on a public forum.

TBHO I think they are so "Up themselves" and from what I hear are not that good a MS company.

Obviously that's my opinion, feel free to differ :)

it should be fine, when you go to fill in the report it tells you what to enter for a handwritten receipt and there is a comments box for the receipt so i would just write in their what happened :)

Thanks :D was really worrying then!

Another question for you wonderful lot, I have just started doing a few Mystery shops and have invested in a ledger to keep note of mileage etc. Could you please advise do I keep a ledger for a year and put a tax form in next year ie do I have a whole year to keep the paperwork up to date before submitting it?

    Many thanks again
No Matter what you do there will be critics.

Keep your record of income and expenditure from the 6th April 2010 to 5th April 2011 and then you can fill in a tax return (sometime before octobner 2011) If you have income and expenditure in the year before this one (2009-2010) then a tax return will be due before this October
