If I was you, I wouldn't do it.

I think that by emailing Bare and telling them you have a relative working in the store (as soon as you discovered this), you have demonstrated a totally professional approach. Bare can only commend you for this.

I would follow up with another email saying that I had decided not to proceed with the assignment because it would compromise my anonymity and integrity as a mystery shopper.
I'll do that, Thank you :D

  • If it was the one near the swimming pool, then that will explain why there were no balloons left when I took my kids in this evening!

I still haven't worked out why they do the balloon handing out when the shopper is in...

I never mark them any higher or lower for doing it or not doing it and the report doesn't ask about balloons or interaction with guests etc.

I just usually roll my eyes and think to myself "you're trying to impress me but the foods cold / limp / not salty / dining area is filthy etc so all the balloons in the world won't make any blinking difference to me report!" :D
  • arrrrghhh just logged back on to upload crisps as its working again and my store is not listed! the store listed is not the same supermarket or in my town!:eek:

I think the site's gone a bit nuts tonight... The reference numbers are right but the names and towns are waaaaaaaaaaaay off...

I was all excited when I logged in - thought the project had been extended to other stores besides the big four, was thinking there would be more work if that was the case but evidently the site just has a headache :(

Just done my first Helion report. Not my first allocation, but my first report (closed down store visited, and yes, I did check the website first). Thanks, all, for the comments you put here regarding the brief summary not needing to be brief! I'll see what happens.

I encountered only one problem with the report: I just could not get the spell checker to do anything! Is it just me? Not an immediate concern (I spell checked/grammar checked everying in Word), but it would be nice to know for the future. What happens when any of you others click on the spell checker?
I thought the same, however when I did make a spelling mistake and spell checked it -it kicked in. Other than when that happens it feels as if it isn't working.

Doesn't it say something about staff interacting with other customers though? And were they treated better or worse than you?

It told me I had spelt internet wrong but I hadn't. It just highlighted the word in a drop down box but gave no option to change it.
I just didn't bother using it.

Considering I was moaning about not having any jobs, I will have earnt over £150 in fees since Wednesday! :D

Did it perhaps want you to spell internet as Internet (capital i?). Just a thought as many spell checkers pick up on this, and I suppose it *ought* to be a capital, though most of us don't bother.

Why should it have a capital I ?
