I have been on the phone to HMRC this morning to clarify a few tax return points I was unclear of. I thought I would post them here in case anyone else was as confused as me! Im sure most of you know this but just in case!!
1. I asked what happens to money earnt but not paid by 5th April 10. I was told that any amounts not paid to you by then but that were invoiced by 5th April must be included even if you have not yet received the money.
2. Allowable Expenses. Any equipment bought that is wholly and exclusively for your business such as a camera, PC etc and totals less than £50.000 (Which im sure none of us has done!!) can be used fully against tax if you have the receipts.
Hope I havnt stated the obvious!0 -

First page, last of the FAQ's0 -
Had some gradings back for the Helion jobs. My first was 100%. The others since then have gone done the way. Can accept that as I put in less as I got tired.
Made a mistake in one where I put in my home post code instead of the specified town. Used the town in the assignment but then entered my own post code.:( Only realised what I had done last night. Still to be graded on that one. Have let them know. Will be interested in how they handle mistakes.

This seems a very silly question - last month I completed my first job for React. But cannot see anywhere on the react site advising how or when payment will be made.
Did do a quick search on here as sure answer is already on here somewhere.
Many thanks0 -

Two pay runs a month and they usually hit my bank account around the 11th and 26th of the month.0 -
That's exactly how mine were graded.
As much as I hate the RE reports, where you have to write a ridiculous amount of characters to fill the box, I do think that perhaps the Helion reports should have a guideline of roughly how much they are expecting. To me if it says brief then they don't want an essay, just 2 or 3 lines, and some companies would mark you down for writing too much.
It's disheartening to follow a brief and then with no explanation be marked down for what you thought was correct.
I had five telephone jobs for Helion yesterday to a storage firm. The reports were easy and straightforward, very little comments needed. However, another editor initials begin with D has marked me down on each one.
I am absolutely not happy because there was nothing wrong with what I put. I checked and double checked my spelling, grammar and punctuation but comments have been made about them.
I will be emailing Max about this because it's unfair :mad:0 -
I hear editing/validating is becoming an issue.
I have a meeting with the editing team next tusday so we will dicuss and clarify.
Thanks for the feedback
