mine was like that, but he started wearing jeans after he went to high school. he still has tantrums, but not about jeans. All of a sudden he decided he didn't want to look chavvy.

I buy secondhand next clothes off ebay ....

I've done this before too. I used to buy Next stuff for her when she was younger but it was getting to the stage where a lot of the stuff was arriving not as described, or with stains that weren't mentioned etc. The last straw came when I bought a bundle and had to throw the whole lot out because the condition was so poor. The seller was rude and refused a refund but got banned in the end as she'd ripped of a few people in the same way. It put me off and will not buy clothing from there anymore unless it's brand new and tagged. Even then you still take a risk, the seller could be a smoker and the stuff could arrived stinking. Safer to stick to shops I think.

Like I say, DD's pretty easy going, but I struggle in Next to find anything much I like because they seem to have an awful lot of black/dark grey, and although I wear alot of black, when I was a small child my mother would never let me wear black and I'm afraid it's worn off on me and I never buy DD black clothes (other than school trousers/skirts/dresses).

One of my best bargains ever is a winter coat (ski type jacket) I bought for DD in Primark for a fiver last February. It's white (I know!!) so it's been washed an awful lot, but she still wears it almost every day and it's still looking good. And I find their children's thermal vests good too. But they are a bit hit and miss quality wise.

She was also admiring bathing suits in M&S earlier, which were two piece, but not quite bikinis - the "top" bit was quite long so there'd only be a bit of a gap between the top and knickers. Not sure where I stand with those because I'm not hugely keen on bikinis on little ones.

    Jxx
And it looks like we made it once again
Yes it looks like we made it to the end

Just think a proper short vest and knickers - they were all the go when I was a kid because we refused to wear the knitted cossies our mums made :D
.................:)....I'm smiling because I have no idea what's going on ...:)

I spent most of my childhood and teenage years in jodphurs and t shirts so few rows there! I do remember some blazing rows in shops, but generally my Mum is pretty chilled. She only objected to skirts that were too short, and logos - she hates FCUK stuff, and I bought a top that said "When I'm good, I'm very good". She loved it, until I turned round and she read the back "but when I'm bad I'm even better" ;-)
Dad just used to look up from his paper and go "Borrowed the pelmet off the curtains again love or is that meant to be a skirt?"

I feel the same. :) Daughter was after a bikini for years and I always refused her, it's just a personal preference thing. I did eventually get her one of those long top bikinis though, it seemed a good compromise again.

Yes, I'm starting to find this now that I'm buying age 7-8 for him (he's a big 4 year old!) that the clothes are a lot more worn that you'd expect. He's only 4 so playwear is fine, and I just buy him a couple of new ones for best, but at ten I can see why poor condition clothes would not be suitable.

I bought this for my eldest yesterday, perhaps you could suggest it to your daughter next time she is grumpy about shopping :)
