Didn't manage an NSD today...had to get diesel as was VERY low! So made sure did other spending today too....DH went of get fuel while DS2 and I did a food shop in Morrisons...should keep us going until Friday now.
Spent £22.05 today on F&V, eggs, milk and some ham & salami. Ignored all the good "deals" as we have enough food in the kitchen to last us a couple of weeks or more!!
So I am holding out for NSDs tomorrow and Thursday - fingers crossed!!
It is a lovely evening, and I plan on getting some cross-stitching done in the conservatory tonight, while listening to the lovely birdsong! :easter:

Hi everyone
Update from yesterday pm and today so far - internet is working again, thank goodness!!
Welcome to:
Natty68: :)welcome along, it’s never too late to join us here. Signing you up for 15 now, so no backing out - look forward to the updates. And well done for no 1
karmachilovething: :)welcome along to you too.. All signed up for 8 now, look forward to seeing your updates. I think the point about NSDs is that this challenge makes you think about how and why you are spending money - it might not necesarily cut down the amount you spend (at least to start with) but it certainly reprogrammes the mind to think about what you’re spending - which is the first step. Good luck and well done on your LBM.
emilyka: :)welcome to the April thread, will sign you up for 14 now, look forward to your updates. Hope the hen do goes well
Well done to the following for new NSDs:
coffeeholic: :jwell done for no 5 and for time and a half on a bank holiday. Easter eggs are so much temptation, best thing to do is eat them and get them out of the way!
Little Mis-spent: :jwell done for no 2 and liking the tactics with OH’s birthday pressie. Had a great time out, thanks. We went for a chinese with a group of friends, very good - unfortunately it ruined an NSD for me, but still..
JES_F1: :jwow, you’re doing brilliantly as well - 3 in a row. Well done for avoiding the corner shop temptation, it’s the downfall of many of us, believe me
saorsie: :jwell done for no 3, and love the dog food ideas - on top of double-time it’s almost worth working on a bank holiday. Ahh, thanks, glad you like the front page updates
curlygirl: :jwell done on no 3 - and yes, you’re forgiven for buying a burger, but only once, don’t go making a habit of it
Lollypop 75: :jwell done for no 3, you should be proud of yourself. Keeping my fingers crossed for you for the rest of the week
Still-in-debt: :j well done for 2 NSDs in a row - you’re doing brilliantly, keep going
teenyweenyspender: :jwell done for no 3 - though 12 hour shifts seems like a bit of an extreme way to get them..... hopefully you’ll manage some without the long shifts as well
jintyb: :jwell done for no 2 - like the tactics with OH, devious is definitely the way to go!
Fingers crossed today is another one for you
so here we are: :jwell done for no 2, you’re doing really well. Look forward to the next update - ooh, got it now, well done for a very low spend day on Monday
Changingme: :jI was about to say well done for no 5, but then I saw the ironing pile....:( Good luck with the ironing and well done
chris81418: :janother one doing brilliantly - well done for no 4 - woo hoo!! Indeed
BigMumma: :jwell done on no 2 - this does feel very odd!!
bex37: :jhope you enjoyed your Easter break and well done for NSD no 1 - off the starting blocks now
pure dead dopey: :jI see the aliens are back up and running again - well done on no 4. Thanks for offering to put us all up, very kind, and like the advice about the walking sticks, could come in handy....
elfen: :jpositive thinking, that’s what I like “it WILL be an NSD today”..... Well done for no 4... keep going
anonymoose: :jwell done for no 3, you’re doing really well..
Baileys Babe: :janother one doing brilliantly - well done for no 4 - can I have a piece of Easter egg please, don’t think I’ve quite eaten enough chocolate over the last few days:)
3Dogs: :jwell done for no 4 (hope the ebaying is going OK), as a newbie to the challenge, you’re doing brilliantly.... Great news you’re coming along for the night out, believe me you’ll probably see things you’ve never seen before:eek:
LadyfromVenice: :jjust off to update your total now, can’t have your little no 1 getting all lonely. Well done for no 2
slowlyfading: :janother one doing really well, yay to no 5
skaps: :jwell done for no 4 - another one of the star pupils!
Treacly: :j wow, no 5.. and 5 in a row as well. You’re doing brilliantly!
BlimusOreilly: :jwell done for no 4, another one doing really well. Keeping my fingers crossed for the rest of the week.
And hello to everyone else:
Dorastar: can’t leave DD at home all day when she’s ill, so you’re forgiven for your LSD. And glad you had a good day out today - well done for the bargains!:)
butdoinnedit?: well done for keeping under your grocery budget - brilliant!Hope you enjoyed the drink and the footy! And good news we’re helping you to think about your spending - that’s the aim of the thread really
mookiepook: oh dear to no NSD yesterday, but hope you enjoyed the chippy tea instead - sometimes we just have to do things like that... There are still lots of potential NSDs in April, look forward to hearing about the next one:)
rachelmk: good luck with the job applications today, fingers crossed for you. Hope you enjoyed the cinema outing - what did you go to see? Positive thoughts for the rest of the week and, yes, this does become addictive!!!!!:)
Keiss 21: well done on planning all the shopping at once, fingers crossed for some NSDs for the rest of the week. Birdsong at this time of the year is lovely..:)
curlygirl: 30th is good for me. Looking forward to a weekend with marauding highlanders....:rotfl:
and, yes, it’s probably safer to get Glasgow bridge closed down - we can’t have a repeat of BigMumma’s behaviour with that policeman, poor lad, I wonder if he’s recovered yet?
LadyfromVenice: ouch to the arm - hope it’s on the mend now. Grrrr to the OH and the ironing though, that’s not nice at all... Glad you’re joining us on the 30th, I don’t think you need a passport to get to Glasgow, not sure though.. Love the smiley as well
BigMumma: ahhh, you found the photo - yes, it was before you climbed the lamp post that last time and injured yourself and lost your hat! Hope it brings back some good memories - can you remember anything about the night at all??
boultdj: sounds as though you’re all prepared for the night out in Glasgow ... ooh, charging the webcam users is a brilliant idea - we might make some profit from the weekend (or, more likely) be able to pay BigMumma’s fine this time rather than have to leave her in the police station all night:eek:
I've got all the new totals and newbies listed separately, will update later tonight - going to have some food now....
Keep going everyone, you're all doing really well (in the words of young Mr Grace:))

Had another NSD yesterday. : ) Only 13 to go now.
Didn't happen today as had to pay for bus from train station and buy some food as been away all weekend.0 -
Evening all! Everyone sounds in fine form - just taken me 20 minutes to catch up on the thread
Reporting a lovely total of 4 NSD's so far this month, more than happy with that.
Tomorrow definately won't be one though, my wages should finally clear so need to pay all my bills & IOU's, and get some groceries in - OH was very complimentary about the random chicken casserole I made tonight out of whatever was left in the cupboard, but I think he was just being nice
Glasgow is sounding like a wild night out, count me in! Will be just back from honeymoon so will be ready for a night away from my new hubbyTho we will need to get something done about those cameras if Ewan McGregor pops up - could be a very short marriage otherwise!
I am now walking like John Wayne all in the cause of another NSD! Took my darling lovely beautiful horse (I am quite biased) for our monthly riding lesson - I normally pay my friend to take us there in her horsebox, but instead we rode there - a 5 miles each way, plus an hours riding lesson! Uuurrrggh my poor legs, and have also lost all feeling in my bottom
. Cant imagine how the poor horse feels!
Congrats to everyone on all the NSD's so far, seems that everyone is off to a flying start! xxTrying to jump back onto the moneysaving wagon .... :cool:0 -
