So yes, The Big Night Out in Glasgow - hope plenty of you are up for it, especially LadyfromVenice - our very own Bruce Lee just incase we're ambushed from the north by maurading highlanders (Please god.......). In terms of dates - how does the 30th fit everyone's diaries? By that point in the month we should have a good idea of what we can afford and who needs to stay at home. Written it in my diary in big Tartan letters!Good thinking about the body guard too...
PureDeadDopey - do you live in Glasgow - how are you fixed for putting us all up? Am sure we wouldn't take up much room - or eat hardly anything for brekkie, but in the spirit of MSE it would be fab to avoid B&B costs. We'd all help with the washing up & cooking n stuff--promise! (Also do you think you could have a word with your council and get Glasgow Bridge closed down for the night - might be safer if BigMummaF's curfew has ended..it will have by then :j..and she is able to join us) Are we only going to places that have bridges then? Do you have a water fetish or summat
Actually on second thoughts BigMummaF...............please behave badly - it's sooooo funny when you do. Blummin cheekSo glad you are back on the thread.......the world is in equilibrium again
Although to be honest I don't think one of us lost a nights sleep knowing we were being watched over by Spoon she is doing an excellent job isn't she :T....
<<this is a snap of Newcastle that I found on my phone! I think Solvent must have taken it before I climbed the lamp post for the third time, cuz I've still got me 'atton

Woke up with sore arm today, was kicked really hard during comp.:( I'm a petite 5ft 3 and everybody else was slightly bigger (IYKWIM;):)). Couldn't persuade DH to do ironing today though! Yar-boo for Mr LfV; perhaps he'd prefer being your sparring partner so you can practise more at home before our night out
Looking forward to our night out in Glasgow. The 30th is good for me Curlygirl. Haven't been that far north before, get nervous when I get past King's Lynn. (Do I need a passport?;)) Does everybody look like Mel Gibson up there? Would prefer Ewan McGregor.... ooh! Hadn't thought of that! Can't we go sooner pleasepleasepleasepleaseplease
Mauraders in kilts....Mmmmmm....nye-sssssss!
Bruce Lee barechested, yes, with those baggy trousers, definite no-no. Either way suits me
Oh sorry, forgot why I posted...No NSD today but hopefully I'm now spent out for the week so here's to tomorrowNot today tho as the fruit bowl is a bit empty & I don't know what to do for dinners this week..*goes off muttering mutterings on menu-planning*

Hello everybody, can I join you? Solvent could you put me down for 8 please? I have one in the bag and today too, so I'm doing alright so far
I'm new to the whole NSD concept (light bulb moment being about 2/3 weeks ago) and at the moment find that I'm putting off things to non-NSDs, and at the moment not sure that its cutting my spending. Having said that though, it does make you think carefully about what you are spending when you do do it, which I guess is the point.
How do you all feel that NSD are contributing to cutting spending?Total debt: [STRIKE]£9473.62[/STRIKE] £7,384.87 22% PAIDTAF #25 NSD 8/12 | Food £43.45/£50 | eBay 0/20 | Exercise 5/18:T Proud to be Dealing with my Debt :TDFD: June 20150 -
Claiming another to-day, was out, am back in, so hiding on the sofa with aliens all tucked up and no spends. Will start putting posters up in George Square to warn the usual suspects that the team will be in town on the 30th. No you won't need passports but probably wooly jumpers and big pants for the weather, and of course an umbrella or a sou'wester.
happy to put you all up, will move DS out of his pit and you can all share, aliens will move to conservatory for the duration, just remember to bring your Scottish pound notes and a walking stick (handy for the footering about with the kilts..................)More than Two Years in
Doing it the Niddy way:j:j:j0 -
Hi karmachilovething,
The challenge has definitely had an effect on my grocery spending, but perhaps you just need a couple of months or so to see it taking real effect? I don't think it's reduced my spending elsewhere - but there again I've always been quite controlled with budget etc
If you're going to join us on the big night out in Glasgow on 30th then please let me have your Eye Colour (for Tarten matching), arm length (so we can get you kitted out with sword and shield - we're going to do some marauding) and knicker size (as these will be issued in St Andrews colours. We thought this best after the infamous BigMummaF/Tyne Bridge incident on the last night out.)0 -

LOL!
Just googled George Square and PLEASE NOTE ALL........There are live webcams online. There is also rather a large column in the centre - I think we may need to cordon it off so Spoons doesn't try and hang off it upside gripping with her thighs singing 'Don't Cha'. Hmmm maybe one of us should pack a first aid box to deal with any nasty chafing incidents?0 -

It WILL be an NSD today. I've bought fruit - under a fiver so very pleased - got pears, oranges, grapes and bananas, so that's sorted for the week - but that's included in grocery, of which I've spent a fiver (OH bought groceries as he owes me £100, so he can take it out of that)
