I'm a first-time NSD'er and not sure whether to count the cost of my DS's karate lessons (£3 a time, Tuesdays & Thursdays) as a spend. If I don't, I had my first NSD yesterday, yay me, but I don't want to cheat - advice please??
Hi missylaney, re the karate lessons you could allocate the £6 as a spend at the beginning of the week (preferably on a day when you're spending anyway) - you've spent the money anyway, so I don't think this would be a cheat. Would this help you to organise your no spend days better? Hope this helps :)
I would like to go for 20 again this month!
Thanks to NSD's I have got into the habit of really thinking about what I buy and if it is really worth having a spend day or can it wait... often it waits and then when I do have an opportunity to spend I no longer really really want the item!
I try to stick to 2 spend days a week and then each of them is limited also. This challenge does drive my other half round the bend sometimes but he has seen the benefits with the savings we are able to achieve and the future we are aiming to have...
Good Luck to everyone on the challenge this month - it wont be easy with school holidays and Easter but if you walk out of a shop and actively think about the purchase it does become a whole lot easier to organise!
Hi wit40iwtwan and welcome to April's thread.:) Very wise advice there that everyone could try to follow - thanks for that. Look forward to seeing your progress during April - good luck. :)

I like the running total idea Solvent, thats if you can keep track of everyone?! Cant believe how many people are on here now :j
I got my first one yesterday, am hoping for another today as I'm at work all day (Bank Holiday - whats one of those?!) and dont need any groceries. Also bottled 30 bottles of homebrew wine last night - they're staring at me from the living room floor, PS: has anyone heard from BigMummaF? Hope she's OK!
Hi katenut, well done for the first one:j - will update you on the front page. Keeping track of everyone's not really a problem provided everyone updates their total when they post, happy to do that:).
Oooh like the sound of 30 bottles of homebrew:D:D:D.
I emailed BigMumma yesterday to see if she's OK, not heard back yet but I think she mentioned she was going to be away. Hoping she's OK. Will let everyone know when I hear back from her.
Thanks Solventsoon for the new thread. I didn't reach my target last month but I'm still going to try for 10 again this month please.
Hi BlimusOreilly, welcome to the April thread:). Well done for keeping going, you will make 10 NSDs this month, I can feel it in my bones. Looking forward to your updates:)
Almost made march so trying for 15 again for April pls
Hi andrinaperry and welcome to the April thread as well:). If you nearly made March's total, fingers crossed we can help you get to your 15 for April. Hope to see your updates on here during the month:)

Hi everyone, happy Friday! :DOne more NSD for today, having a wine and soaps night in my pjs so won't be leaving the house. Feeling tons better than I did last night anyway.
Tomorrow I have to do food shop and buy heads for my leccy toothbrush and other such glamorous things :rotfl: so will be spending. Sunday, obviously nothing is open so will be NSD to balance it all out. :DHope you all have a lovely weekend whatever you are doing. xx
Hi coffeeholic, so pleased you are feeling better than yesterday :j. Well done on getting to 2, even though it took desperate measures to get there:rotfl:. Happy food shopping tomorrow:(

I am declaring early that today will be NSD number 2 :j Just got in from work - cold, wet, hungry and rather bruised - so I am going for a long soak in the bath with a large glass of homebrew and am not leaving the house for the rest of the day.
dealwithdebtdot - the small festivals are the best! we hold a small one in my mums very large garden every year - approx 150 people, 8 bands over 2 days, great fun! haven't been to one of the big ones for years now.
Hope you've all got lots of lovely Easter Eggs to chomp away at on Sunday! xx
Hi katenut, well done for getting to no 2 already:) (and without the benefit of coffeeholic's illness). Hope you enjoyed the homebrew and the bath. Like the idea of your own festival - sounds great:j
first one for me today :D
Hi slowlyfading, well done for your first one:j

    Hello!!!! :hello:
Can I join in too please? It will be my first time here so will start with just a few ... Can I try 10 NSDs and see how I go?!
I think I'll exclude all my bills (all paid by direct debit) but will count a day as 'no spend' if I've not parted with any cash or handed over by debit card!
Hi JES_F1 and welcome to the April NSD challenge - good to have you with us:). I've enrolled you now, so you are one of us - keep posting on here and we'll give you lots of encouragement. Good luck for April:)

I am going to declare today a NSD even though we took our son out for dinner, it's something we do on all our birthdays, it's part and parcel of birthdays in our house and we only spend £37...:j
Hi karenccs67, well done on getting the first one:j and extra well done for only spending £37 - that's great:j
I would like to try for 12 this month, as away for a week. :)
Hi cannp123165, welcome to the April challenge:), good to have you in the NSD team. Good luck and well done for getting your first one already:j

NSD no 2 for me. didn't leave the house apart from good friday service at church and i don't count my offering as a spend as we budget for it and it's the same every week so it's more of a bill than a spend. so 2/15 for me
Hi starnac - wow, 2 already, you are doing brilliantly, well done:j

Please can I join too - don't get much chance to spend when I'm working tbh - apart from I pass a huge Mr T's on my way home every night and have just found out I'm 5 mins away from massive Mr A's at new job (only started Jan so not found way around town yet!) Reckon I should be able to do 10 without too much hassle - especially having seen the bank balance this morning:eek:
Hi Dorastar, and welcome, of course you can join in:). Surprising how much incentive a bank statement is:eek:. Good luck for April and look forward to seeing your progress through the month:)

Thanks LadyfromVenice and solventsoon for your replies, think I will allocate karate money on a Monday, which is nearly always a spend day for me anyway. Congratulations on your daughters black belts Ladyfrom Venice, I've seen how much hard work is involved in gaining them! DS is a green belt so a way to go yet, but he's loves the training and works hard so he'll get there.

Solventsoon can you please record my two NSD's days for April so far :j
