I think there may be a glitch on TVs on M&S

are they getting more stock in at that price £449?0

The "V" is cheaper in most places so probably that one....also I saw the "W" in our local M&S yesterday....at £799
To confirm the Sony Bravia KDL40V5810U is £599 instore in M&S and you get a BDP-S360 Blu-Ray player (worth £150) for 'free'. Not as good a the W model, but still a great deal, esp with the 5 year gurantee0 -
The good guys over on the AV forums have been discussing the KDL-W5 series quite a bit and there are some good hints and tips. Seems some people have had mega problems when upgrading the firmware by USB stick. May be worth a read, click here to go to page 3
Beasty54 has kindly provided his optimum settings which I am going to use as a start point when setting up:

Yes - Mine arrived this morning. Easy to set up, and it's brill!:D0 -
Thanks for this OP.
I couldn't wait for the 15th April so rang the delivery number on Tuesday and it was delivered Wednesday.
Apologies if this has already been mentioned, but i did a firmware update from the sony website via a usb pen drive and my tv crashed. The sony site says don't switch off your tv during the update and i didn't - for over 3 hours! Imagine the panic setting in "noooooooooooo!". The tv wouldn't respond and after speaking to sony they said switch it off at the mains and try again, but if the tv comes on then don't run the usb update again - why, is it a known problem? - according to avforums it is! I switched it off for 10 minutes several times but the tv wouldn't respond. Left it switched off overnight feeling totally gutted. An engineer was due today, but i tried the tv this morning and it started working again with the "update successful" message in the corner. Engineer still came and checked the update version and said the usb update must have eventually worked even though i removed the usb pen after the first switch off. My advice would be only run the update to 1.700SA via freesat if you're asked to, which will add iplayer. By the way, my tv was on version 1.5something, but is now 1.700SA. There's probably hundreds of people who update successfully via the sony website, but just be aware that there are quite a few people reporting the same problem.0 -
i rang them today and it is being delivered on wednesday0

Mine got delivered today - set it up in about 10 minutes - working of the normal aerial (not satellite dish).
It looks lovely, and is brilliant quality.
Thanks OP0 -
