Hello I am new on here. Was told about this website by a lady at the Samaritans as I phoned them yesterday in a right state because my bank had said I had defaulted on my loan repayments when i haven't, my DMC have been sending the payments late. Anyway I was certain I was going to end up with two Phil Mitchell lookalikes at my door carting away the TV etc but thankfully when I rang the bank this morning they are allowing me to pay the arrears back at 50.00 a month.
I would be really grateful if you could help me with as many money saving tips as possible. It's nice to know i am not the only one with debt problems (even though sometimes it feels like it!). One day I will be debt free!Procastination is the thief of time!:eek:0

            Welcome Sparkly Princess
I'm glad the bank have allowed an amount you seem happy with.
I hope you find this board helpful. I find just the little things are helping a lot and jotting them down feels realy good. I am also doing the grocery challenge which really makes you think about what you buy. Also the no spend day challenge. Really makes you spend a bit less if you are trying to make that day a NSD. Also ebaying everything i can with a view of opening a business account when my house is bare!! The poor kids are hanging on to their toys with their lives!!!! Also challenging myself to no duplicate toilettries so i am using up all those xmas gifts etc which usually sit in the wardrobe!
Good luck with getting debt free! Orange Fairy Orange Fairy

Thanks, that would be really handy. Did you have to ring them to arrange having an online account or just do it all online with your account number.
You see this is why i love this board....really helpful info! Thanks again
No didnt need to ring at all, just registered online which sets up an online account https://www.eonenergy.com/At-Home/Your-Account/Register/RegisterCss.htm?WT.svl=10 0 https://www.eonenergy.com/At-Home/Your-Account/Register/RegisterCss.htm?WT.svl=10 0

Thanks littlekel. I have a lot of debt dating back from when i was a student but i am determined i will be debt free my 2013 so only three years to go, which is only 36 months. :j
My incentive to be debt free is my son who is five. I don't want him getting into the mess i have when he is older. I want him to understand how to manage money and that if he really wants something to save for it!:D
Not only did I take on the bank today and win :j but i have written yet another letter to Littlewoods explaining that I can't make the minimum 214.71 payment they keep asking for but will they allow me to pay it back in installments. I'm now just waiting for their reply:(.
On the positive side I had a NSD today. Took my own lunch into work and hubby gave me a lift in so saved myself 1.90 bus fare:D. I have exactly 13.50 in my purse and I am determined it's still going to be there on Friday!Procastination is the thief of time!:eek:0

 Hi Sparkly Princess,
 Welcome to the board!
I've found doing a spending diary really helps me focus http://www.spendingdiary.com/
And I've recently started making a payment a day to my credit card (even if it's just £1 or £2).
Stick with this thread and tell us all your little achievements throughout the day 0 0

I think thats if you switch to Eon rather than if you are with them already and sign up to online paperless billing. I joined Eon last year and tried to go via a cashback site but my meter number meant I couldnt which is a bit of a pain! 0 which is a bit of a pain! 0

Did anyone else really feel that missing hour this morning?! It was a real struggle for me getting up for work! Usually try and read the first few posts on here before I leave for work in the morning - no hope of that today! Was a bit of a rush. I'll read up on all your efforts/successes properly when I get home tonight. You're all inspiring me. So addicted to this thread!
Today I'm planning on taking it easy, waiting for the pace to pick up over the bank hol weekend, so here's my wee list:
 - Breakfast and lunch from home - feeling quite pleased about this as got OH into it too - made a bacon buttie before work and got tuna pasta for later
 - Charge phone at work
 - Wash the dishes as soon as I get home when the water is still hot (and only put it on for as little as poss if it's not hot enough - must remember to turn it off when I'm done!!)
 - Take shoes back that I don't need and won't wear
 - Be sensible and let my friend know that I can't make it to her middle-of-nowhere wedding - would be seriously pricey for travel and accommodation and a v long way to go for an evening invite. Plus, as it's my friend I'd feel bad asking OH to cough up so much money (esp when he doesn't even want to go) and I really couldn't afford to pay for us both. Also, got a hen night two weeks before, a wedding a fortnight after it and another wedding a fortnight after that one! Three weddings in four weeks is too much for my budget to handle, esp when I've got my own wedding budget to think about... Phew, convinced myself! Hopefully she won't think I'm a complete !!!!!
 - Put some coins in the jar
Might do a few more bits and bobs. Will catch up later.
 La xx
Me again! :rotfl:I'm bombarding this board with posts this evening!
Anyway, I did a few more little things so here's my update:- Got my lotions and potions samples through the post from www.latestinbeauty.com - apparently I will look more youthful from tomorrow!
- Got some surveys accepted
- Updated spending diary
- PAD to evil cc#3

Cleosmum - yeah, totally read that post wrong - only good if you're switching. I reckon companies should do more for the customers they've already got sometimes!0
