Morning peeps
cold and raining here today, i`ve not got the heating on though as i`ve no little old houndie to keep warm. I turned it off yesterday when they went away with DH and it will go back on tonight when they return. If it was only me it would probably never get switched on.
I`m just waiting for the first half of the floor to dry and then i can wash the rest. I have to do it in two halves as there is so much furniture to move i shuffle it all to one end of the room and then all back again before lastly putting it all back in the original places.
Halight - nice to see you posting and its nice to hear that the twins are doing so well
Donny Gal - Thinking of you today
I`m just updating the desktop as its not been used for a while. Seems strange looking at such a big screen when i`ve been used to using netty, i ought to get my finger out whilst the weathers rubbish really as every pc in the house needs wiping and a clean install of windows but i just don`t seem to be able to find the time to do it.
I may try and do one of them on my next day off, its the backing up that puts me off as its so time consuming and i`ve still not sorted through the junk on the external drive from last time.
Rachel - Hope all goes well.
Jet - Sending (((HUGS)))) for your doggie
JackieG - Snow  hope that we don`t get any although one minute its forecast and the next its not. The forecast changes at least twice a day and i`m a bit fed up with it. Can`t wait for some warmer weather.
Right must get on with the floor or i`ll be rushing around at the last minute for w*rk.
Have a good day everyone.
SDPlanning on starting the GC again soon

Morning All!
Seems like I haven't been on for ages. Had loads done in the house last week. Builders came back to fix the step that was crumbling. Had a new back door and bathroom window fitted. No draughts or leaks now!:T Should have had them done years ago, but couldn't afford it then.:o OH and I cleared the garage yesterday. Loads of junk not needed. He wants to make a proper workshop down there, so at least it's cleared.
A friends' husband cleared the garden on Friday, and yesterday the next-door neighbours finally did their side, so I can now get a new fence put up. Dining room is finished at last. Looks gorgeous, I'm really pleased.:T
Was rainy here this morning, but sunshine now. Going to the House of Commons today with my Dad. He won a competition to have tea with our local MP, and I'm going too. Be interesting anyway!:rotfl:
Buddy the cat has taken over the office day bed, and is refusing to let anyone else sleep there! DS is due home next week, wonder what he will make of him!:rotfl:
Anyway, ((((((((((((((((HUGS)))))))))))))))) to anyone who needs them.
Have a good day!
I Believe in saving money!!!:T

What an idle lump I am today I went back to bed to try and catch up on some missing sleep and have only just woken up:eek::eek: unheard of for me to just be climbing from my pit at this time of the morning, still joints feel a lot better for the rest if nothing else.I shall have to get a wriggle on though as its come over very dark and I think more rain is on the way.
I have a nice tuna salad for lunch with some of my applesponge and custard pud for desert so I think I'll have lunch first before having a walk to the library and bank. The theory is it will help walk off my lunch
or I will just be too full to want to do anything this afternoon.
probably catch up on the ironing whilst watching some t.v. as I missed 'Candleford ' last night and its the last one for this series I think.
My DD want me to knit her little Jack Russell dog a 'girly' coat with lots of bling on it.;) I shall have a look in my knitting bag and see what wool I have I think I can do a pink and white striped one ,maybe embroider her name on it afterwards.I can definitely find some pink ribbon for a bow.my sosn-in-law has said he will flatly refuse to take her out for a walk wearing it as he says she will look daft.men have no imagination sometimes girls have they.Right off to jump in the shower can't believe the time I'm normally up at 6.30-7.00.
Cheers Chums

Hi, a busy day for me today. I've been to our new & improved Sainsburys, which is much bigger and I couldn't find anything! Then I went to drop some stuff off at the charity shop. Yesterday was our local NCT sale, so I dropped off the stuff that didn't sell. It will be interesting to see how much I made, as they are now charging 30% - I'm not sure whether it is worth it now. This afternoon I'm helping at school, they are doing a history walk around Durham - considering the weather forecast it may be quite miserable!
we got the go ahead with our house sale at the weekend, so I'm off to ring the solicitors to make an appointment to sign contracts:eek:0 -
You clearly needed to sleep JackieO!
Weather wet here. I do remember year DS2 was born - 1975- living in East Anglia and we had snow on June 2nd or 3rd and then the heatwave began on June 6th!!!
At least all the spring flowers and shrubs are doing their best to cheer us up - I love all the yellow in the garden!
Am making determined effort to just get on and do things this week - I'm so good at writing the lists and then either doing nothing, or turning round and doing loads of things not on the list at all! have decided to choose just three things each day (apart from things like tidying the kitchen/washing/shopping etc. which would have to be done), three things from my To-Do list! So today's were to dust and replace the books from the landing bookcases (all taken out for decorator last week), organise retirement gift for someone, and finally, tidy the livingroom properly.
This far I've organised the gift and made huge inroads into the livingroom. Currently on short break, but I'm not allowed to surf the net or play games (yes, I'm addicted to Spider solitaire!) until all three jobs are properly ticked off!
I hope those of you facing difficult days today will be OK. ((HUGS)) all round where needed.
Take care!Resolution:

Good luck to jc and rachel and best wishes for Tris and anyone else who could do with them.
Have had four viewers for the house in two weeks so have been rushing around. DD(21) home from university for a month and her 24 year old sister is back for easter weekend! Yippee.
:j
Still have home made lasagne from yesterday and also gammon, potatoes and veg from Sunday lunch so dinner should be easy tonight.
Persuaded DH to get DD put on car insurance so she can get extra practice while she is home and he did this today. They went out nearly two hours ago so hope they are all right. DH insisted that we did not have L plates already so the look on his face when I produced some from the kitchen drawer was a picture
Spent yesterday sorting out my wardrobe - threw out stuff that is now too big and organised it so trousers, skirts, jackets are all together - all tops are together and now colour coded!!!! At least I can now find stuff!
Went to the monthly catalogue sale on Saturday and came away with one pair slippers, a purse/wallet, two handbags, six tops, a skirt , pyjamas, a silky nightie and five summer dresses. Also three tops for DD(24) .
As the whole lot only cost £15, I don't feel too extravagant.:)
As you can't try things on and the sizing is iffy I just grabbed everything I liked the look of that was around the right size and suitable for summer, especially if it turns out to be a scorcher. Anything that does not fit I'll take to the local charity shop with the price tags still on.
Pouring with rain here so I don't think I'll bother going out just now.
Hugs to all"This site is addictive!"
