  • Well my day hasn't got any better. Sorry for moaning when there are far more important issues that the lovely flyladies are dealing with, But, DS has just been to my work, now he's supposed to be in Caterrick, but guess what he's got his date finally for Afghanistan, it's next thursday. I kept my cheery face on but now am sat here hardly able to see the keyboard or screen. Poor Fred my workmate has had his head down ever since as he knows I'm upset and he doesn't cope very well with emotion as he's only young.

Anyway sorry for the moan, I'm logging off now as getting ready to go home.

Love and hugs and healing vibes all round especially, Sandy, LL, Toots and Jinks xx

I don't see why they can't give them more notice but to be fair it's only more worrying time for us. Huge hugs honey and if you need a pal just get me here or on FB honey anytime x

I look at my hovel and I think.. 'hhhmmm... that needs doing'... so I put it on the list.. unless someone says they particularly want a certain thing on.. or that they don't want a certain thing on.. and I add those too!!

ds3 home.. and.... he is really pleased with the bedroom!!!!!!!!!!!!!!   I think he has been switched with another child while he has been away!! The carpet is coming tomorrow so I'm sending OH to slop one last coat of blue about then the beds can go back in their proper place and the curtains can go back up.. I found a grey one with black, red and blue speckles.. so it already looks like it has never been vacuumed so all is good! I got carpet for DD1's room as well so I can crack on with that next week.. once my backstops hurting!

Old carpet is coming up in the morning and I'll get the new one down as early as possible.
Glad DS3 likes his bedroom you should don a white collar and only supervise the carpet laying if you have a bad back already. Just shout orders at OH (cause I know your good at that !:rotfl::rotfl:)

LOL.. you have no idea how often I get asked that.. they are all mine.. :D I've spent 12 years breastfeeding!!

You need a medal. 12 years breastfeeding:eek:. I think with 8 kids I'd have had them on the bottle (otherwise I would have been!) Piggers did you plan to have a big family? I mean did you always see yourself as being a mum to quite a few kids?

On the flying front just about to declutter some crackers and cheese while sticking a couple of burgers on for DS2 and DD. They don't want a chinese with me and OH.

Ishtar, let us know when you've made your GP appointment - if we don't hear we'll give you little reminders!

Will do. DS has his 12 month jabs next week. I'll make the appointment when I'm in there. At least I'll speak to the nice receptionist - I usually get the dragon when I phone. (She puts the phone down on you often without re-confirming time and date of your appointment, and definitely without a 'goodbye'!).

I'm off to catch up on the rest of the thread. My thoughts continue to be with Sandy. I can't imagine what you're going through love, but we're all here holding your hand. Greenbee, thanks so much for keeping us up to date and for passing our messages on.

    See you in a bit.

    Evening All,

Hugs to Sandy and her family, I really hope she gets all the support she can get.

Hugs to Carlsberggal, though I don't know what its like to have a son to go to a warzone I know how you feel. My Ex Husband went to the first Gulf War when my DS was 3 days old and it was horrible. Worst time of my life. At the time we lived in Germany and all we got was BFBS tv. They used to have Sky News on during the night and the music they play during their breaks still sends a shiver down my spine when I hear it.

Hugs to anyone else that needs it too!

On the flying side of things I could do better but still achieved a few things.

    So here is my list.

I want to see at least 2 things that are fabulous in our life right now!! There has been a lot of unhappiness so now we can all be Pollyannas and be glad about something!!

My Pollyannas are: I have lost over a stone in weight and am really happy about that and also DD2 is the best thing that has happened and she is a little star even though she has a KH as a father!

I always said I'd have 7... and when we got to 7 it just never seemed enough.. so we had Tiddles.. :D And she put me off for life!! lol

OH can't fit carpet so I have no choice but to do it.. it won't take too long.. and i'll have him move the furniture etc about.. he is currently slopping on the very last coat of paint, and DS3 is washing the mud from his entire person then their boxes of junk will be stacked in DD2's room, as she is at her friends tonight so they can sleep in their beds properly.. and the 2 cupboards and pc desk can be stuffed on the landing in morning so I can properly measure the bedroom and take up the old carpet!

Huge hugs Carlsberg - sending stay safe vibes xxxx

Fingers crossed for the job AJm

I am warm as toast at the moment. Went to NN's had a long soak in the bath. Bless her, she put the gas fire on (as well as the central heating) and quietly roasted whilst I warmed through. She's also lent me a little halogen heater that she bought a couple of month ago so that's currently on in the living room. For such a little thing, it really does chuck out the heat.

The stew in the oven is smelling divine but I'll leave it there a bit longer I think

    Wotcha's :D

firstly, again, my thoughts are with Sandy and her family at this incredibly difficult time. xxx

Also to all our other flyladies who respectively need hugs, squishy or otherwise, heating engineers, a big glass of vino, some balsalm tissues to mop up tears and some cushions to punch in frustration or anger.

Been a busy day, my lovely DD1 has made tea yet again. Very happy and thinking that getting her the 'Hairy Bikers, Mum knows best' cookbook was a stroke of genius.:D

Have now been forced to get a wriggle on re decluttering the pit of despair eg, Triker towers as we're having new windows in next week so we need to clear all the rooms for access.

Hubby been in London today so will share this news when he returns later this evening....

Currently 'resting' like bread dough as its been a busy day, not helped by me attending the wrong place for a meeting and having to dash across the city to get to the right place in half an hour. :o

Off to get some washing dry.

Sandy wants you all to know how much she appreciates your support. I think she's probably feeling (understandably) very lost and lonely, so knowing that there are a bunch of lunatics here thinking about her is helping. She's trying to get herself discharged and when she does (and hopefully they won't let her out unless they're sure she'll be OK) I'm sure she'll be back online to see what we're all up to.
