Prayers & much love for Sandy and her family - and thank you GreenBee for being our link, its appreciated.

Finished work today for, counts rapidly, 12 days, as DS now on holidays from school. I've picked him up, wearing his PE kit, and was handed very soggy & extremely muddy trousers, socks & shoes - the joys of a clumsy child....he's now making Easter cards whilst I chill out for half an hour.

Then serious flying commences - I have various church-y commitments over Easter so want to be sorted in the house before so I can go and just enjoy being IYKWIM without worrying about XYZ. And I must add my congratulations to Toots on your confirmation - it will be a very special service I'm sure.

Right, coffee and a list to be made....

    Moam
Although no one can go back and make a brand new start, anyone can start from now and make a brand new ending.... life is a WIP.

  • Quick question for Pigpen - how do you sort your lists for us all? Do you have a huge spreadsheet somewhere and when feeling particulalry evil put in nasty ones lol!
Hopefully after all this decluttering things will be easier for me now.
If you wait for perfect conditions, nothing would ever get done! :T
    I'm not short - I'm condensed awesome! :p
  • Hello all

Been a wee bit busy although not that much.

DS2 came home from school covered in paint when I asked if he got any on the paper he said he didn't have any paint on him till he offered to clear up for the teacher! so WM on!
Both DS2 and DD are on the front page of the paper today doing their very best 'the baddies at the council have shut down our school' face.
DS1 has just left to go to Edinburgh with the shows it's meant to be a swamp so mum made him take wellies and he's not chuffed. I've had a little cry but already missing him and he's only away 1/2 hour:o.

Greenbee thanks for the updates on Sandy. I think it's a great idea to speak to Lady-L or other flyers who can give her info and support and total understanding of her situation. I know from experience that Lady-L and Toots are fab for advice and so understanding. Pass on my love and I'll keep her in my prayers.

Re the baby conversation. I think it was Dusty who said that she smelt her baby all the time I did that with Piper. I was so happy to be feeding her and just for her to be a baby cause I knew I was unlikely to have any more. I have seen her milestones with happiness tinged with sadness cause I know it will be the last time these all come my way as a mummy.
Re stretch marks. I have some very light ones from carrying DS1 cause of the weight hips and back of my knees (I think that was due to a 60 hour week on my feet all day) lost a cup size breast feeding but all in all I think my body looks OK for having 3 kids. I was happy that I didn't need to diet or anything I just got back to my normal quite quick I think the longest was DS1 it took me from the 15 dec to 25 dec the other 2 I came home from hospital in my own clothes. So it's not all bad.

  • Well my day hasn't got any better. Sorry for moaning when there are far more important issues that the lovely flyladies are dealing with, But, DS has just been to my work, now he's supposed to be in Caterrick, but guess what he's got his date finally for Afghanistan, it's next thursday. I kept my cheery face on but now am sat here hardly able to see the keyboard or screen. Poor Fred my workmate has had his head down ever since as he knows I'm upset and he doesn't cope very well with emotion as he's only young.

Anyway sorry for the moan, I'm logging off now as getting ready to go home.

Love and hugs and healing vibes all round especially, Sandy, LL, Toots and Jinks xx

That's not much warning  Will it be a six-month tour? I hope you can find a way to deal with him being away. You know you can vent with us x

Huge hugs for you Carlberggal - I know you have been expecting it for a while but it doesnt make it any easier
Polka - Nice to see you posting, congrats on Mrs. It is hard work having sinusitus when you are pg and cannot take anything.
Greenbee - please let Sandy know that we are thinking of her as well.

My typos are getting steadily worse - as anyone who chats to me on Facebook can testify - my commitment (in light of several peoples situations!) is to go and get my eyes tested again, and if that doesnt help go back to the Drs and get the trapped nerve 18 months ago that is no better re-checked. The words come out of head right but don't transmit through my fingers which don't always work as they should. I have let myself be put off by a bad Dr. (who said I am tense and I just need a regular massage!) but I have responsibilities to my boys to get myself checked. Who else needs to go and get something checked? Who has missed their smear test reminders, etc, etc?

The playroom looks a bit better and we have also made a start on the BR toyboxes. I will eb happier when they have their own bedrroms. See! Bored of re-typing things.

Can I post some good news please? OH had his interview today with the local council ready for getting a NQT position next year. It didn't go particularly well, especially as one of the deputies from his school who is a c**k was on the panel (although OH is probably being quite sensitive about the experience). There is a school that he worked with last year who he is still in touch with as he wants to work there and they want him. He was in touch with their HOD at the weekend and she mentioned they had asked for a NQT to try and get him. He got in touch with her this afternoon to tell her it hadn't gone too well and she sent back that as far as she is aware the head of their school has asked for him by name, so any possible problems with the interview shouldn't matter :j:j
I am so proud of him, he left working with me which he had done since leaving school for close on 30 years and it is not easy to retrain for anything in your late 40s. I know that his enthusiasm will always shine through, even when he doesn't believe me and am really over the mmon that the job should hopefully come his way. I am unbelievably proud of him and tell him so every day.

Sorry if I am being OTT but I thought some positive news on here might be a good boost.

I look at my hovel and I think.. 'hhhmmm... that needs doing'... so I put it on the list.. unless someone says they particularly want a certain thing on.. or that they don't want a certain thing on.. and I add those too!!

ds3 home.. and.... he is really pleased with the bedroom!!!!!!!!!!!!!!   I think he has been switched with another child while he has been away!! The carpet is coming tomorrow so I'm sending OH to slop one last coat of blue about then the beds can go back in their proper place and the curtains can go back up.. I found a grey one with black, red and blue speckles.. so it already looks like it has never been vacuumed so all is good! I got carpet for DD1's room as well so I can crack on with that next week.. once my backstops hurting!

Old carpet is coming up in the morning and I'll get the new one down as early as possible.
