PLEASE READ!!!
Hello everyone,
Just thought as it's getting closer to the meet, that I'd better put out the details again, in case anyone else wanted to join us.
We will all meet at Chichester train station at around 12. This gives everyone who is travelling a distance or travelling on the trains, time to get there. (If you are travelling in a car, PM me and I will tell you where the best carpark is, as the station one is expensive.)
Once everyone is there, we will go on to Lloyds as they are reasonably priced and have a children's menu too. They are only a 5-minute walk from the train station. They are in a leisure complex and just down the road from the soft play centre, if parents wanted to take children there. They also have outside seating so if the weather is nice, we can all sit in the sun.
Please can anyone who is interested in coming, send me a PM.There are quite a few new people on the thread now who may also want to come.
At the moment, xx_Jo_xx and her son are meant to be staying with me, and so is mumofjusttwo. Froddy has juliejim staying with her and says she has a few more spaces for long-distance travellers to stay too.
There is a local premier inn, that is also part of the leisure complex, which I believe is offering promotional prices over the easter holidays if anyone would like to stay there.
So far:
Definites = sexymouse, froddy, juliejim, LadyL, mumto5, mumofjusttwo
Maybes (please confirm with me in case of changes) = rach, JillD, greenbee, serena, xx_Jo_xx
Hope to see some of you there.

unfortunately it isn't - and their dad's cousin has a 'management' type job in the company having worked at Barnfield Close *wink* and that was from memory *glow* we'll see. Trouble is he wants the money without the work...I like that Morrisons, it's a proper one, ours is an ex-Safeway with a VERY tall manager who is no doubt fed up of being harangued by a leggy redhead...Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily Dickinson

Valli - hope your DS has better luck. I asked for an application form when I went shopping tonight and was told that there are no vacancies until October. I'm not quite sure how they can be so sure (people leaving etc), so I think I'll try to make a phonecall next week, but I'm not holding out much hope.0

Well, yes, the museum itself was free, but I knew X-KH wouldn't have stumped up for the IMAX cinema there, or the other extras when he took her there.
As I could excuse it as being vaguely educational, (and I wanted to see it anyway), I bought tickets for the IMAX Hubble film - brilliant, btw - and the moon landing sensory experience thingummywotsit - not as good but still ok. £22 with concession.
And because
she is nervous of trains (thanks, school, for showing the scary videos about getting killed by the things), but made the effort and did rather well (her intention is to train herself so she isn't bothered any more),
plus we managed to spend 8 hours alongside one another without wanting to wring the other's neck (:D) and
she listened when I explained a bit about molecular structure, being able to identify the Carbon and Hydrogen atoms in DNA later (thus proving she had listened!)
I let her choose between a Chemistry Set and a microscope.
(£30 - educational - gulp! later, she's very happy)
I now know what to get for her birthday in June.

other jobs to get done.- go to b&q buy gloves, lawn sand, guttering,
DD waved goodbye to her cot which made me cry! She is obviously ready to grow up even if I don't want it to be as fast as it seems to be going.
DH sanded and re-varnished the outside table so of course it then peed it down:mad:
MIL looked after the kids for us while we got on with it. She came at 9am:eek:and of course we hadn't had breakfast by then. She had very nicely bought the kids some eggs and usually buys them some clothes too. She bought a lovely trousers and tee shirt for DD and a coat for DS which he doesn't like so she has told me to take it back, which I will seeing as I asked her to get a shirt:(
I have already chosen the coat I am going to buy for DS and have told her so , but then she always seems to do this as if there is a great rush for her to buy it first, I don't know why she bothers to ask me what I would like her to get in the first place. So i now have a trip into town to return the coat he doesn't like and buy the one he chose out of the next catalogue. God I sound so ungrateful don't I? She just irritates me by asking for my opinion and then totally disregarding it.
She did the same one Christmas and bought my DS his first bike which was too big, was a present DH and I would have liked to buy for his birthday when he was actually big enough to ride it and then the following year went and bought the keyboard DH and I were going to get him as his "big" present:mad::mad: I have now learnt and do not tell her what we are going to buy or get myself organised and buy it and then tell her:)
So sorry if this seems really petty and selfish but it is hard trying to balance the fact that we are grateful that she loves the kids and babysits for us if we need her with the fact that she is trying to be the parent to her own grandchildren:mad: I think I also find it hard as my mum passed away before I had either of the children, she is trying too hard and I just wish she would back off a bit.
She also came dressed head to toe in purple, her favourite colour, bearing a fluorescent purple coloured cardi for my DD which will be worn on occasions when we know that "nana" will be coming. It is truly awful.
Right rant over, sorry everyone just needed to get it off my chest.:o:oCross Stitch Challenge Member ?Number 2013 challenge = to complete rest of millenium sampler.0 -
Awww, just think of the pictures the kids will draw at school...
'Tell me about your picture, Master T.'
'Well, that's my giant bike that I have to wear stilts to get on. There's mummy taking back the horrid coat to the shop so I can get one I like. Her tongue's poking out a bit because she's biting it.
That's Daddy. He's making it rain because he's doing some work in the garden.
And the giant purple whirlwind thing with a little purple blob and carrying loads of shopping bags? Oh, that's Nana and my little sister'
*****
Tell MIL your second rated present each time. As long as she thinks she's got in first (which may not be 'being a parent', but just wanting to be special to the children/compensating for them not having two Nannies to spoil them), she won't be hurt and you'll be able to get them the big presents sometimes!
(I do understand. Ex KH1's mother was an fffffin nightmare. She completely took over, so much so I felt that she had stolen DD1. She bought all the clothes, thus freeing up KH1 to spend it on computers and junk food, took her out constantly instead of for a couple of hours, nearer 17 at a time, started sneaking her normal cows' milk at 4 months because she decided the BF wasn't giving her enough goodness and generally did my head in!)I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll0 -

,
Have been a busy bee today. The garage clearance went very well, was gob-smacked by how quickly my things were snapped up on freecycle (and by how greedy some people seemed to be!) We can now walk through it without tripping over stuff. :rotfl:
That's the reason I don't list on freecycle anymore I think the more well known it has got the more people have abused it.
Have a huge hug from me honey.Got here safe.. had food.. watched some gogglebox.. came up to bed.. erm.. where is my bag??
