Billie Jo - I get loaf tin liners from a Pound Shop in my town so might be worth looking in any of those near you.0

Hello everyone
Can I join in please? I've been having a go during the end of March and throughout April to get by Grocery Shopping to £160 for the month.
I get paid tomorrow and so will be starting a new month.
I've been logging everything I've spent in a spreadsheet and have a set of totals for food. So far this month I've got £5.06 left
I've used quite a lot from the freezer this past month and will be off to do a major shop for food and toiletries etc at the weekend.
I need to keep my visits to the supermarket to a minimum cos I'm easily suckered into those "bargains I just can't do without"!!!!
So Grocery budget for May will be £160.Clear debts by July 2011 challenge

Thanks Long Tall Sally, Keiss 22 and ellemm for info on Lakeland and pound shop. Not sure if we have a poundshop local but will ask daughter as she goes into town more than me and if not Lakeland it will be. TYMARCH £62.38/2500

Billie Jo, as ellemm said, a pound shop should be cheaper than L*k*l*nd for tin liners. I noticed some in a large pound shop last week in Taunton - it was P**nd l*nd or P**nd something else, not sure.Keeping two cats and myself on a small budget, and enjoying life while we're at it!0

Me again - have updated my sig, having been to Mr S this morning, and spent £3.16 on apples, bananas, soy sauce, basics curry sauce (9p!) and 2 bottles of basics vinegar @ 13p (which I use as fabric conditioner for the coloured wash.)
Will be away again for 5 days next week, staying with friends, so no grocery spends during that time (we'll do the same for them later in the year!) Will take wine, but don't include that in my GC.Keeping two cats and myself on a small budget, and enjoying life while we're at it!0 -

A couple of small spends so updated signature. Not much of month left and over half the budget remains. I am well pleased with this month's efforts as we needed to use some things up, which we have done. This in turn cuts down the spending.
Will need to stock up cat food and a few household items this week, but most of budget should remain safe until end of the month.:xmastree:Merry Christmas0 -
Nothing spent on grocerys all week (since Saturday) so quite pleased with that.
I'm going to try to write next weeks meal plan and shopping list tonight ready for Saturday - I only have about £43 left in the budget so will look around for some cheap and easy meals that will fool OH into thinking he's having something more glamorous!
Any suggestions?0 -
£4.83 spent at Tesco on the way home. Needed cheese as finished it last night, also got some apples and some girly things. Oh, and biscuits for work (but not counting them).
I seem to be doing ok this month despite putting my total up by £10 (which hopefully I won't need). I've been doing a monthly meal plan for the last few months which has worked quite well, but i've had to change the last few weeks quite a bit due to changes, so i'm going to go back to weekly plans as am getting back into bad habits with not using stuff in the cupboards/freezer and just adding to it, so that must change!
I will need some salad bits next week and more milk (and possibly a couple of bread rolls, I need to check the freezer) but apart from that, I should have everything.Grocery challenge - Nov: £52/£100
