Such a shame you are not in the Essex area as my daughter runs a pet sitting business and boards rabbits, guinea pigs etc or will visit them in their own homes to feed and clean out their cages. There are quite a few businesses like hers around, she advertises in local shops, vet surgeries, local magazines and on the internet. Hopefully you will find someone suitable, good luck!0

If you're anywhere near Kent, I'll look after your bunny for you
I'm a very experienced owner, take good care of my pets and adore bunnies"One day I realised that when you are lying in your grave, it's no good saying, "I was too shy, too frightened."
Because by then you've blown your chances. That's it."0 -
Thanks for all the offers, unfortunately we don't live near kent or essex.
We finally found a local-ish pet sitter, but after they cancelled the initial appointment just 30 minutes before they were due to come, I felt a bit unease and cancelled them altogther.
My mum has offered to come up once a day in the morning to clean and feed them (a good 45 trip one way, so I'd like to avoid this if necessary). Then maybe it wouldn't be so cheeky to ask my neighbour if she could pop in and feed them in the evening.0 -
I would offer to help out but am nowhere near you. I am off on my own hols this weekend for a week and have 2 bunnies (although they live outside, they are very spoilt, have complete ownership of my shed, are used to having the run of the entire garden all day and getting their fresh veg every evening at bedtime). I am lucky however that I have family fairly closeby, the inlaws just 5 minutes away and the rest 25 minutes away. They have rota system set up so that the same person doesn't have to come too often. Poor bunnies though, even though they have a run attached to the shed, they aren't used to being cooped up like that. It does make it very amusing to watch them when we get back, binkying like mad around the garden!
Do you have any friends nearby who wouldn't mind helping? I know it is a big responsibility, but I am sure they wouldn't mind0 -
My inlaws are just 2 minutes away and they are looking after the rabbits for us for the week, except they are away for 2 days and it's these 2 days we're struggling with. Unfortunately its a big family birthday party weekend, so everyone we know will be going to it! Just bad timing really.
The inlaws have suggested asking their neighbours as they look after one anothers cats. So maybe they wouldn't mind feeding our rabbits and I can get my mum to come up and clean them out.
Your bunnies sound very spoilt indeed. We have 2 rabbits, but they aren't bonded (it didn't go very well at all) so they live separately. I've just moved one outside into the Playhouse this weekend, while the other can have the shack room that's attached to our kitchen. He used to live in a huge dog crate in the living room, but I want more space for him and also to get the hay out of the room! I'm trying to win a shed at the mo on ebay so I can move him outside too before it gets cold.0 -
Lots of petshops where I ma now run a small animal hotel
I know bunnies are £1 per day.
I did have a look at the 'hotel area' when I last went in to get some food for my rat and it looked very well looked after and clean.

I did have another thought on the bunny sitting thing. Have you been on some of the bunny forums? I particularly like the forums run by Rabbit Rehome. The ladies and gents there are very dedicated to their rabbits, many run their own sanctuaries and rehoming services as well as offering to bunny sit. It could very well be worth a look there if you are really stuck.
Sorry to hear the bonding of your 2 didn't go well. I can't really take the credit for mine bonding, I can really only put it down to the fact that the doe is very placid, plus this is her second partner.
Sounds like a great idea to try and get them both outside, I hear you about the hay inside (ugh!) If you want to make the move to outside, it needs to be done asap to give them enough time to grow the coat they need for winter, mine have already started bulking up.
Good luck and hope you find someone to help out and take good care of your rabbits.0 -

Thanks madhouseof4, I've already asked on rabbit rehome forum, I visit there fairly often to get rabbit advice.
Thanks Snail's pace, I'm going to check them out.0 -
Hi,
Where about's do you live? I run a business in East London and will look after pets of all shapes and sizes. Put pet sitters in on google and you should get a pretty good list to work from. Otherwise as others have suggested, call your vet!!!0
