Check the ads in your local paper and gumtree. There may be someone who recently had a change in circumstances and can no longer look after their rabbit.

    Thanks all,

Gumtree is no good as does not really cover anywhere north of london without great detail.

The male (aka Fluffy) isnt neuted, so will need to be done. Did speak to a vets yesterday, but got in late last night from work so failed to ring them again and take him in.

Will keep the look out, appears that summer is good for rabbits, everyone wants one. Still going to wait, no rush here really. Just would like him another friend.

When you walk into the garden, he comes to the backdoor, like he tries to get into the house. You can leave the door open, and he wanders through the house into the front garden, which again is rabbit proof...
  • Autumn/early winter is a great time for having lots of choice of rescue rabbits - lots of irresponsible people decide they can't be bothered going down the garden in the rain to clean their rabbit out, and dump it at a rescue instead.

  • My vet has a noticeboard and people use it to "advertise" pets who need rehomed and I spotted a lovely rabbit today, so you might find the same at your local vet's.

Pets At Home near us has a notice board for animals wanted/for sale etc...
  • My two rabbits both gave birth 12 days ago and 9 days ago. The white rabbit gave birth 12 days ago to 6 babies, one died straight away. On friday another one died and today another one has died. They are not as big as the rabbits that were born 3 days later.
I,m not sure if she is a good mum but then how have they survived for almost 12 days if she wasnt really looking after them.
I,m worried now that they are going to die one by one and I,m wondering if I put them in with the black rabbit which is the good mother whose babies are doing well would she look after them or reject them,

Any advice would be greatly welcome as my kids are getting upset with the deaths and I need to act quickly.

I wouldn't put them in with the other rabbit as she will probably kill them.
  • She'll eat them. Don't do it.

    Hi,

i'm just wondering if someone can offer some advice on nusiance cats /kittens we have a 4yo outdoor rabbit who is being annoyed by the kitten next door.

It seems to be about 5/6months old and kept outside - the litter box is kept outside (not sure where it sleeps but a few times my mum has woken in the middle of the night and it has been on top of the hutch sniffing around Leo).

We have tried the rabbit friendly anti-cat spray but that doesn't seem to be working & short of throwing water over it (which seems cruel) but we lost a rabbit due to a cat scaring it a few years ago (caused a stroke bless him).

    Does anyone have any suggestions?
Using my phone to post - apologies in advance for any typos
