    Morning everyone.

I completely forgot about the clocks DOH! So here's me thinking it's nice and early when in reality it's nearly 9am
Gorgeous sunshine here - might get out in the garden and sow some seeds in the propogator. Have been really behind with all this and I need to get my butt in gear. Kids will no doubt love being in the garden - it's all they want to do at the moment. they have their own big terracotta pot of compost that they can dig and play with so cue lots of mud pies and putting compost on plastic plates for dinner. They get grubby but that's what being a kid is all about :D

Made Thriftlady's cinnamon (sp?) buns yesterday. WOW they are delicious. I've never really attempted much with bread apart from a loaf but these are lovely. Only problem is making sure I don't eat them all in one go. Made the house smell lovely yesterday too :)

Don't feel quite so rough with my cold, just snotty :o Hopefully bit of sun and fresh air will clear the nose ;)

Have a lovely Sunday OS or not. Hugs to those that need them.

Stroppyjock - What an awful way to start a shift. I understand that people feel they have no choice but to end up but there are other ways and means surely than traumatising some one else that's nothing to do with you :(

flutterby - am very jealous that you can go for a walk by the sea. Its been my dream since a kid to live near the sea. Sadly the land locked Midlands isn't condusive to sea walks :(

    Morning all,

Happy anniversary to the Tappers :j:beer: 22 yrs  wow.

Its a beautiful day here, got dd's uniform in the wm, and will do the bedding after. Oh has gone to the boot sale, and dd and little dog are still in bed.

Must be a day for roast pork, as we are having it too, I got a huge bit in sainsbugs 1/2 price, so cut it in half, half today and hopefully enough for tomorrow, and half in the freezer.

I managed to give dd'd room one coat yesterday, I cant tell you how satisfying it was to paint over the dull brown walls, and get rid of the chocolate brown wall paper, it was such a dark room, it will be transformed once its done, I just need to get someone in to hang wallpaper on one wall for me.Going to try and get the 2nd coat on today.

We need to get little dog out for a long run today, she only had a quick walk yesterday, and was a bit hyper last night :D

Stroppyjock, my dd gets the train to and from school, and every now and then someone commits suicide on the line, and all the trains stop running, it causes chaos for so many people.

Ok better get on, have good days all xx

    Dear All

Haven't been on for a while - well, just lurking around.... Gone OS mad this weekend. Did Beef Stew type thing in SC yesterday, ended up with 2 massive portions, one was eaten (yum yum) and one frozen for Tues (cos it's parents evenbing and I don't want to be cooking after seeing hundreds of parents!!). Got Turkey in SC today and rice pud line dup to go in later... my SC will need a holiday after this.

Cheap and cheerful recipe this week was Butternut Squash, Sweet Potato and Lentil Curry (made loads, got three more portions in freezer!!) - was very yummy.

    Hugs to all

csarina - Great embroidery, you are so talented. Sorry to be so dim but what are the items you have made in the second pic?

Morning all..............(((((((((((((((((((HUGS)))))))))))) if you need one.

Diva they are cushion covers..........quick and easy to make but look brill with a cushion in.

No rain yet, although its forecast as is snow for Wednesday...bbbbrrrrrrr..........:eek:its summer, come on!!

OH's back seems to have improved this morning, he is talking about going out to the veg garden and hoeing between the garlic and maybe planting the strawberry plants, he will cover them with fleece just in case we get snow.

Nothing really planned for today, I pinned the wadding on the cushion cover last night, need to quilt it now and then I can sew on the button loops and put it together. I have fabric for another couple which will be presents for friends, they are so quick and easy to do and make nice gifts as do the bags with the embroidered pockets. I also buy pillow cases and take them to bits then I can embroider a design on them using washout stabilizer. I gave a friend who runs a B & B a pair, she asked me to make her another 8 sets for her beds.:T:T

Roast chicken with all the trimmings for supper tonight, plum and rhubarb crumble methinks,

    Hi everyone,

Csarina, what's washout stabiliser. The embroidery and quilting are lovely, I'm trying to restart the quilting I did several years ago, I really enjoyed it but other things took over.

Happy Anniversary the Tapladys, have a wonderful day.

Stroppyjock, my DH commutes and it's hard to be sympathetic when someone jumps in front of the train. They wouldn't jump on front of a car, I suppose its much easier to forget a train has a driver.

Diva - keep the meal plans coming, they may be simple but that's the way a lot of people like it - I have made more of your recipes than anyone else on the forum.

I had the most awful dream last night, which was so dreadful I won't tell anyone about it (it involved real people), I do know where it came from though, I find I often dream about things I've thought or experienced during the day, but in a very twisted manner, I'm sure a psychiatrist would have a field day with me [g].

I sorted through some old family photos my dad had given me, there are some lovely ones. My favourite is a photo of dad as a two year old with his parents, grandparents and great grandparents. That means that my two have a photo which shows their great great great grandparents. I showed DH two photos, one of my elder brother with our nan and his eldest as a baby and me in an identical post with nana and dd. The difference in her body language and expression was incredible. DB had always been her favourite and she is lit up with joy in the photo with him, while she has virtually no expression inmine. DH was shocked , although I'm used to it.

DS and GF are coming for dinner so we will have roast lamb with all the trimmings. I need to do the ironing and want to do a bit of painting (decorating not hobby) have a good day everyone.

    Good Morning Everyone!

Lovely sunny day in Glasgow. Bedcovers in the WM with a big dose of Biotex, white cotton covers are not the best idea when you sleep with a big hairy man!:rotfl:Coco has just had her ham hough for breakfast/lunch/dinner, she was a bit sick yesterday so we starved her, but she seems fine, now. I didn't get it from Mr T this time, I got it from the local butcher for half the price!:eek: That was a trauma for me, though, the smell of the butchers makes me feel quite ill.

Had a nice long lie this morning, the boys get themselves up on a Sunday now, and we have some peace and quiet for an extra hour in bed, not that it's very private as they pop in and out every ten minutes for a cuddle!

Plan for today is to finish my cuppa, go stick some carrot and lentil soup on, make some muffins and biscuits of some sort, then spend the rest of the day doing OH tax return. It's not end of year yet, but we're skint, so I want it all ready to go by the end of next week so it can get posted as soon as it arrives.

Hope everyone's doing OK and you all have alovely day. Hugs if you need one.

    .

Washout stabilizer is exactly what it says. When you embroider on Fabric you need to use a stabilizer to stop the stitches pulling and puckering the fabric so the embroidery is flat when you take it off the hoop.

Wash out stabilizer washes out of the fabric. Its used a lot for free standing lace and on clothes especially baby stuff where you do not want scratchy stuff against a babies delicate skin. There are many different stabilizsers each oine used for a specific purpose. Believe me machine embroidery, like quilting is not a cheap hobby!!!
