I could be wrong but I think I remember when I went on holiday to Jamaica wearing a wristband that worked as a repellent. Not sure if it made a noise that mosquitoes' didn't like or smell or something but if I remember correctly it did the trick.

You need the SSS Soft and Fresh dry oil spray from Avon usually about £2.50 a bottle. It contains cintronella to keeps bugs at bay.

Have heard conflicting advice about taking Vitamin B a couple of weeks before going off on holiday, some say B1 whereas others say B1 doesn't work you need to take B6?? Which is it (if any of them work)? Due to go to Luxor (Egypt) end of March 2011 and I always prove a good meal for the dreaded mozzies wherever I am, even in the UK!!:eek:

I have tried the vit B and put the whole family on it - but no good, I am afraid for me. we are now on odourless garlic tabs but with a strength of 1000mg. absolutely brilliant. just come back from egypt and no bites. the only place you can get this strength is I think healthy direct and they are usually on offer bogof. enjoy egypt. need to get them in your system about 1 - 2 weeks b4.

I have always taken Vit B1 & they have worked great for me. I take them for a month before I go & then while i'm away & is the only thing that has worked. I know it does not work for everyone so guess it depends on how your own body works.

Out in SE Asia at the moment. Only thing that works is DEET.

The only thing that works well is Deet the best one around Ultrathon it contains 34% deet used by NATO about as strong as is safe to put on bare skin, do a search on google for "NATO Insect Repellent (Ultrathon)" you should get it for around £7 a tube
