What was the problem with taking a seat? Are the lot of you too ill-mannered to share a table with anyone else? If you asked one of the less busy tables if you could share with them would you end up embarrassing yourselves? Why on earth should a barista waste time showing you to a seat? If your BO is too embarrassing then you should have thought of that before entering somewhere that you must have noticed was BUSY.

If you behaved like any normal group then no problem would have arisen - you would have discovered the error with the order in a timely fashion and would have received a replacement.

TBH Alan is doing everything he can for OP - if she isnt inteligent enough to accept that a allbeit bad situation has happend and allow Alan to do everything he has offered, even to the point of putting his shift pattern on for her to go in, then more fool on her, as lets face it this is three cups of coffee were talking about, theres worse things in life than missing gingerbread syrup and the non willingness to ask other customers to vacate so they can have a seat afterall the staff are there to serve drinks/clean tables why should they get themselves into possible confrontation etc!

  • Well, look on the bright side, at least you were seated while waiting for a table to become free. Sorry, but I find it slightly arrogant of you to suggest that you should have priority to a table to drink your coffee at. You've been offered an apology but, as far as I can see, you've rejected it. What exactly are you expecting?

I've written to costa coffee about the incident, I was on here for a vent not for remedial action. No offence to coast_glasgow_fort but he could be anybody and in order to do as he wants i'd have to send him my name and address or go back into the store - possibly to speak to someone who doesn't exist. Isn't it sensible to not give personal details to someone who just happens to appear on mse a day after you've written about a store? I might not be so wary if it was an established member who had a history of posting as a coffee shop owner or even just as a manager but it's not. I also might not be as cautious if he'd went through board admin like people who represent companies are supposed to do.

For goodness sake. It is prudent to be cautious on the internet, but you have been invited back to the store to see the manager.
What on earth do you think will happen if you go in and ask for Alan the Manager - will you be abducted for the white slave trade ?
I am starting to think that your complaint is not exactly as in your original post.
As always, there is always two sides to a story.

I had a problem with Asda 2 weeks ago, complained via email, response was for my address so they could send me a good will gesture. Ok was only £5 but every lil helps.

As of yet no dodgy geezer has come to chop me up and put me in bin bags :D But got my Asda voucher instead.

And yes Glaswejen, i am just as vulnerable as you, also an occasional wheelchair user.
mind you you could smack him one if he dare looks at you with all your boxing classes.:rotfl::rotfl:

Lol, if the official costa email people asked me for my address then i'd give it to them no bother but i'm not giving it to anyone on mse who asks for it

ETA the glasgow fort store is in easterhouse, anything can happen! Lol, i'm not from the area anyway, just went to the fort to avoid the kingston bridge on a football day. There's not much more to the story than what's posted, what more can there be really? It's a story about a coffee shop, not as if i stole all the beans and am now trying to get a refund.
  • Your comment was flagged up to myself today, I had 2 choices to make, do nothing, or offer our appoliges on behalf of my store. As previous mentioned I have invited you to contact the store when I am on shift to offer a refund. Some stores do not have the facility to flag up "mentions" on the internet but I have that benefit and with all feedback good or bad I will act on it.

Jen, why not just phone the store at the times the manager is in? He is trying to help. Worst that will happen is that manager Alan does not exist, and you (at the very worst) pay a few pence for a phone call... assuming you don't have free minutes.
