I can't imagine taking action based on such a response, never mind one that would have serious consequenses for the people they tell!!
Just me though, perhaps this happens a lot (miss that shruggy shoulders)
I wouldn't have thought so either but after being told near enough every day that I "must be lying cos someone on the internet/my friend/my dog told me different" I'm starting to think it's pretty common, especially in the benefits forum, a lot of people would rather research online first before calling an 0845/0870 number to ask someone. Just think it's a lot easier for people to stay schtum than to guess!! Ach well.0 -

if the advice is something they want to hear then possibly they start to believe its right and wont be told otherwise by someone else on teh other end of the phone who is giving the right advice0 -
What like Marleyboy recommending the person who had their buggy stolen to use one of those recalled killer baby carries??
Could have been a fatal recommendation :-(
Certainly I recommended a baby sling as a substitute in a more "relevant" thread to this one, merely as a more secure option to leaving a buggy unattended- as my baby safely uses two, a Manduca and a Maya baby Sling.
BOTH of which are highly reccomended for their safety, BOTH of which have not killed a baby, BOTH of which have not been recalled, they have been through rigorous safety checks to pass the UK standards, Of course BOTH are still much more secured from theft than any Buggy. Feel free to look up on them,
I'm sorry but if you insist on going around trolling other members in this way, your going to have to do better than that, at least try to be good at it and be sure to check out your research first, before so embarrassingly jumping to the wrong conclusions, in the wrong thread and making yourself look even more foolish than you have already proved yourself to be with your post (among many others I guess)
Fortunately, the majority of people on these threads are far less interested in those who go around trolling in other peoples threads, in some vain attempt at trying to spoil the atmosphere, they are even LESS interested in what any Troll has to say.
In fact you generally find that trolling gets completely ignored by the majority of "sensible" members, worse still is that you have posted this in a vain attempt of making someone else look foolish, and it's already backfired on you, giving you even LESS credibility, than you were lacking already.
My apologies to the OP for posting something not entirely relevant to this thread, I felt his post needed to be addressed before placing this user onto my ignore list.
I now will place it back on the tracks for you
I find the most useful place for a forum, is the techie thread, not only do members understand your problem sufficiently, that it is within a forum means they can offer advice in a step by step method, on occasions repairing the issue during the conversation.
Indeed there are many threads where members offer useful information, from the Freebies to the arms. It is true that there are some members, who are "inexperienced" on a thread, some who just like a friendly bit of banter and of course some who's sole intention is to disrupt or spoil a thread.
For a newbie, it can be overwhelming as to who is who, but over time they settle with more confidence, most of the regulars, generally know who is who on here and the sensible ones, will generally do their best to help any new members to settle in, whilst trying to keep the abusive ones from upsetting them (at least until a PPR is warranted).
90% of the Members on MSE, are a good natured, friendly, trusting and loyal bunch, all who do their best to try and help others out, each in their own little way.
(The other 10% usually end up on ignore or get PPR'd - they generally end up part of the forgotten tribe)
That is what makes MSE the popular place it always has been and always will be:A:dance:1+1+1=1:dance::A

I kind-of agree with you, BUT on the flipside no-one should be taking information given randomly on a website forum and using the instructions without doing some of their own research, using the basis of the advise given. I see warnings against that all through this forum.
I agree, but I still say that people who blindly rely on 2nd, 3rd or 148th hand info alone are asking for trouble a bit, not just for relying on us lot (bloomin useful though you've all been to me:beer:), but for not getting as much info from as many sources as possible before making any drastic decision.
Would suggest that much of the incorrect info is due to an error (often picked up by further posters), rather than a need to be malicious.
I always think the best of folk too and I'm rarely let down.

Gaun show us yours then ....
I love accents, especially in the flesh, and even reading to DD and DS I have to give all the characters accents of some sort.
Not just a sucker for sweeties..:o0 -
I contracted leprosy taking my bin out the other day. Then both my hands dropped off. I'm typing with my nose.0

Hopefully you didn't use them on your keyboard before they did. I can categorically state, without a shadow of doubt, because I'm a self appointed expert, your nose will now drop off!0 -

Wow, how did you know that? Now I'm typing with something else. Please don't tell me that will drop off too....0 -
Marleyboy this threads titled "people who give out wrong information"
Therefore I do not see how I have posted my comment in the wrong place?? I felt you gave out wrong information and acknowledged it. That my friend is not "trolling"
This was your post :

Convenient, safe and cost effective
Now correct me if I am wrong but you describe the above carrier as being "safe".
The picture IS of the product that is being recalled because of deaths and YOU have recommended as being safe. Therefore you HAVE given out wrong information. Completely relevant to this thread.
Just because the product has been recalled it is quite possible they may be for sale used on ebay or places like Gumtree
I didnt waste my time resding through your nonsense about trolls as quite frankly I feel i made a very important and valid point.
I am a mother of two young children and I would hate for someone to make the mistake of purchasing one of these slings that YOU PICTURED AND DESCRIBED AS SAFE????????????????????????????????????
If by me pointing this out brings about abuse by you so be it, quite frankly i would rather that than someone foolishly listening to "people who give out the wrong information".
Valid point raised on a valid thread. If you cant put your hands up and say you made a mistake that is not my fault MarleyboyI dont recall recommending purchasing any recalled or fatal killer baby carriers. SEE ABOVE AS YOU CLEARLY DID As far as I am aware, if a product has been recalled, your not likely to find a shop that is going to be selling them.
Certainly I recommended a baby sling as a substitute in a more "relevant" thread to this one SO THE FACT YOU HAVE GIVEN OUT WRONG INFO IS NOT VALID????, merely as a more secure option to leaving a buggy unattended- as my baby safely uses two, a Manduca and a Maya baby Sling.

MAY I SUGGEST YOU DID NOT REASEARCH BEFORE PLUCKING ANY OLD PICTURE OF A SLING OFF THE NET????????????????

YOU SHOULDNT MAKE ASSUMPTIONS AND IF YOU HAD READ ALL MY POSTS PROPERLY YOU WOULD SEE I AM A WOMAN, RATHER EMBARRASSING FOR YOU AS YOU CLEARLY DO NOT PRACTICE WHAT YOU PREACH AND DO YOUR RESEARCH BEFORE TYPING
I now will place it back on the tracks for you
