This really annoys me!!
If you don't know what you are talking about the don't post anything!! Thankfully the majority of people on here know what they are talking about but as always you get the odd few (in general day-to-day life aswell) who witter on, not knowing what they are talking about and depending the subject it can have serious consequenses for the people they tell!!
My mother always told me "If you don't have anything nice to say then don't say anything at all!" Well, I think "If you don't know what you are talking about then don't say anything at all!!"
Another thing that annoys me is people who make themselves out to be ill to get attention. For example, a girl I know recently told everyone that she got pneumonia by taking rubbish out to the bin without a jacket on (the bin is at the end of a very small garden) but was seen out later that night giving it laldi in a nightclub!! Why do people feel the need to lie about such insignificant things?!?!
Anyway, rant over

!!!!!! is laldi?Always ask ACAS0 -
Also it is a free forum and the only people that can dictate what can and cannot be said on this forum is Martin and his team. If it's that serious I am not sure posting on a forum is the best place to go for advice.Always ask ACAS0

!!!!!! is laldi?
:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: I bet they're from Glasgow?
'Giving it laldi' or, 'Gee'in it laldi' is a common phrase used to show that they were carrying out an activity particularly vigourously i.e 'he was gee'in it laldi shouting at the ref' - he was shouting really loudly to the ref lol

I kind-of agree with you, BUT on the flipside no-one should be taking information given randomly on a website forum and using the instructions without doing some of their own research, using the basis of the advise given. I see warnings against that all through this forum.
Would suggest that much of the incorrect info is due to an error (often picked up by further posters), rather than a need to be malicious."Part P" is not, and has never been, an accredited electrical qualification. It is a Building Regulation. No one can be "Part P qualified."
Forum posts are not legal advice; are for educational and discussion purposes only, and are not a substitute for proper consultation with a competent, qualified advisor.0 -

Totally agree with you there but there are still gonna be people who will come to websites looking for answers rather than phoning a helpline and to be fair people on this forum do help 99% of the time. Wouldn't want someone to think that they have been given correct info then finding out a few months down the line when it's too late. In my work I get people calling every day who tell us WE are wrong cos their friend had told them something different. I could go on another rant about people taking responsibility for their actions but I won't bore you all with that :rotfl:
I bet they're from Glasgow?
You got that rightdidn't even realise laldi wasn't a proper word haha!!

" give it laldi: Scots slang: making a fuss or a big noise. ..."
In the double dee it's more
'participating in whatever activity you are undertaking with the maximum of enthusiasm'
But laldi's better, often results total strangers to shout 'gaun yersel hen'
It's generally an inevitable side effect of too many pints, and a rush of adreneline from the unexpected activity of dancing.:D
Back on thread
If you ask a question on t'interweb, especially an unmoderated forum, whose members can join without any particular qualification, then I don't think you should be making ANY big descisions based only on the response you get in one place.
I can't imagine taking action based on such a response, never mind one that would have serious consequenses for the people they tell!!
Just me though, perhaps this happens a lot (miss that shruggy shoulders)Not just a sucker for sweeties..:o0 -
What like Marleyboy recommending the person who had their buggy stolen to use one of those recalled killer baby carries??
Could have been a fatal recommendation :-(0
