Breadsticks!?! I love breadsticks...grissini in Italian, aren't I posh! I love how you can nibble them really fast and just shove them in your face in about ten seconds. BTW Churchmouse, I am just like you, only worse. I lost five stone (and got that picture taken!) then stopped smoking and have regained a lot - far too much, I feel terrible about myself, hate my reflection, hate my clothes...but the cigs are not the answer... Somebody once muttered something about diet and exercise, but I am sure that was a load of old piffle...
Paul Rankin's soda bread is OK, just. The very, very best stuff comes from proper home bakeries - and not those found in English supermarkets like Tesco or Sainsbury's. The white flat soda bread is the absolute best ever if it's made that day then split, spread with butter and jam, it's the food of the gods. Gorgeous toasted. Some people fry it, it's pretty damn good, but your typical Irish frying pan is basically a heart attack waiting to happen. It's OK occasionally though. All these lovely breads are Northern Ireland specialties - the southerners don't tend to have them! We are spoilt, could eat soda bread till it comes out of my ears!
TUC biscuits did somebody say. I haven't bought them for years...literally about 20 years or so. Not because I don't like them, but because I eat the entire packet all at once. It's some sort of primeval urge which gets unleashed when I open the packet...best not to buy them at all...
I have to go to bed...I am so tired, would much rather be posting on here!
BTW the gits in Newry burnt down our TKMaxx:mad::mad:. It makes me so cross - MFI, Carpetright and JBB sports all got the same treatment, seems they had left incendiary devices in the stores yesterday, and they went off during the night. The fire brigade had to break in in order to start putting the fires out. Yes...it makes me v.cross, it is so pointless and does nothing but upset so many people.
OK, can't get myself worked up about it...will think of blueberry muffins and shuffle off to my bed now!
Night all!
