That's a horrible feeling, when you're so tired that you can't sleep! I really envy people who sleep well.
I loved the pics you posted earlier....you've been working really hard in the garden, no wonder your hand hurts!

I thought that too, now I think it's just luck. Some games you can do well in and others there is no chance.0 -
Wow!
Is this a record? The daily thread is now sitting at 207 posts! I don't ever remember that many before, but I could be wrong.0 -
Lol, a new record eh? I do love the daily thread - it never fails to pick me up on a down day, and reading about how much everyone else does has eventually worn off on me and got me in gearJanuary '06 Grocery Challenge (4th - 31st) £320.Week 1 - £73.99 Week 2 £5.10 (so far

Someone burst my bubble and I lost the plot so no idea what I spent now...Other Jan :- Petrol £20.41, Clothes £8.50, House £3.I will try to work it out.

That was Queenie's original plan when she started the daily thread. She wanted it to motivate other Old Stylers, so she'll be delighted to hear that it has helped you Kaz.0

Glad you liked the pics by the way - I was trying to get links to it posted, but I'm not too hot with that kind of thing. Our dog in the pick is a year old this month. I took a friend to have her pup treated at the PDSA last September, and while we were there a guy unzipped his holdall and threw him on the floor. I'd been promising the boys that they could have a dog when I finished the garden, lol.
Luckily he hadn't been rehomed when I called next day, and I managed to pick him up before the pound collected him. He's the best thing that's ever happened to usJanuary '06 Grocery Challenge (4th - 31st) £320.Week 1 - £73.99 Week 2 £5.10 (so far)

Lol, that's funny as I particularly found Queenies posts inspiring. It was her frequent mentioning of bread being in the BM that got me thinking about a BM!
I think so many women miss out on 'examples' of homekeeping today. For a while I think modern living took us away from it - but I think that the enviroment is fast pushing us back to it, what with the price of everything rapidly increasing due to cost of fuelJanuary '06 Grocery Challenge (4th - 31st) £320.Week 1 - £73.99 Week 2 £5.10 (so far)

There are a lot of traditions that are being lost. A few are better lost, but some should be preserved. Boards like this give people the oportunity to learn new skills and give others the opportunity to pick up traditional tips if they want to.
OS is down to personal choice.....you can do as much or as little as you want to. I am certainly learning a little bit more each day.0 -
At least I went to bed before I posted on todays thread!
Today so far - eaten a bowl of ice cream and saved thousands of pounds grabbing loopholesPlans for the day - to get to sleep ASAP.

I've quite suprised myself by how much I've taken the OS approach onboard and enjoyed it, especially as I consider myself quite 'modern' in my thinking. TBH I think it's coming full circle - some 'modern' things we once considered fantastic are now proving to be a poor second to some of the oldies. There's a great article in the 'gardners world' mag this month (first mag I've bought this year!) about herbs and their uses - and as it rightly points out, medicines are simply derived from specific ingredients in plants for the most part!
Mind, I do hope not to many people cotton on to OS, I'd hate for the price of stardrops to increase!January '06 Grocery Challenge (4th - 31st) £320.Week 1 - £73.99 Week 2 £5.10 (so far)
