When my friends moved to Hawaii I bought them a teapot, sugar bowl and cream jug and a huge box of teabags! She is British and will miss her tea so I thought it would be a keepsake that is soo English (to remind her of home) and teabags, because apparently the tea over there isn't so good. HTH

    Hi all,

Sorry, I'm on page 4 so I've totally lost track of who said what.

DH is working at home today because we are having the fascias and guttering replaced. Unfortunately we've had a massive thunderstorm so the workmen have left - having removed all the gutters so we are left in a downpour with water going everywhere.

Will be carless this weekend (as DD and DS will have them) and of course I am now thinking of lots of things I need to do that will be impossible without a car.

Will try to use the matchpots I got for our bedroom to decide on a colour for the walls so that we can buy it 10% off next weekend.

    Hiya Twink

Its Nelski with the stalker not me, though it is worrying as well for all of us - does make you think.

Well Ive actually done nothing so far today - got into watching a biography programme about Nigella which was very interesting and couldnt seem to shift myself from the settee:rotfl: . However am now up in a vertical position and just about to empty the wm & put another load in, next will be swishing the bathrooms and having a runaround with the hoover. Also need to wash living room and kitchen floors. Then some ironing before settling back on the settee with DD & DS to watch BB - oh will be somewhere else in the house muttering about 'what rubbish thank god its finished' doing a very good Victor Meldrew.

OH & kids went out about 1 hour ago but have now got electrician here doing a small job which seems to be taking ages so will go and make him another cuppa then will get on

    Afternoon All,

Am off today with a UTI, seem really prone to them, had one last year that led to a kidney infection but when kidneys etc were scanned all seemed well.

DH sent me to bed this morning, I wasn't allowed to sleep (DD prises my eyes open when they close) but at least managed to get her to watch Mary Poppins, I love that film.

Last night I blitzed our bedroom, I moved our TV and video on to the wardrobe and created lots more floorspace. It feels lovely , it was a pleasure to be poorly in there today.;)

Can't wait for the BB final, will be clearing out all DH's videos etc as that corner is a mess, so no wine and snacks for me.

This weekend we were planning to work in the garden, but the weather is looking decidedly dodgy, have had to put the heating on today as DD wet the bed last night, she is such a heavy sleeper she never gets up in the night to go to the toilet so if I forget to get her to go before bedtime......

Need to make another weetabix cake later and DH has requested more brownies, also need to make a loaf.

    Breakfast: lots of water!!
Lunch: Rice salad & grilled turkey
Dinner: Pork chops, jacket potatoes & veg,was last nights dinner but wasn't up to cooking so took kids to dreaded McD's. Turned out to be rather MSE though, they have leaflets with free swims for kids until the end of the hols so stocked up on those!!

Right am back off to bed shortly, will be sorting through my recipes and planning my shopping list for tommorrow, don't usually manage to get on weekends so enjoy your weekends all!!! Hugs to all who need them.

  • Hi all,

Thank goodness it's nearly the weekend. This week seems to have gone so s-l-o-w-l-y.

I'm going to my friend's wedding tomorrow. We've been friends since our first day at infant school. I'm really looking forward to it. I just hope the weather holds out for them!

Not too many other plans for the weekend. We are staying at the hotel where the reception is tomorrow evening, so won't be home until after lunch on Sunday. By the time I've bunged some washing in & had a tidy round, no doubt the weekend will be pretty much over.

Might have to have a go at making some Weetabix cake next week I think!

    Have a good weekend all,

    Dora x
