    HAPPY BIRTHDAY PINK-WINGED

Morning all :hello: What a miserable, winter-like day it is here :( Its raining and windy. I've had to put the heaters on upstairs as it's so chilly  (Making the most of it though as I've hung washing in the bedrooms to try and get it dry ready for packing tomorrow for our long weekend away). Ive even put a jumper on as I'm that chilly :o DD is on the sofa with her quilt on her trying to keep her warm as she's now starting with a cough

    *Rant alert*
OH managed to smash a glass over the dining table last night in the middle of tea  He got himself, his dinner, the floor and table all covered in broken glass, which I then ended up getting in my hand while cleaning it up  Thank goodness we have laminate in our living/dining room. So I pick it all up, pull the glass out my hand with tweezers as it was those little tiny annoying pieces, and put the bowl & cloths in the kitchen while I finished my tea. After our financial review OH asks if he can watch the James Bond film on ITV4 and he promises to clean up the kitchen so I can stay upstairs and watch CSI:Miami, CSI:New York, Killer Instinct (I love my American Police dramas :o ). So I go upstairs watch my programs and get into bed with it being midnight. OH comes to bed and goes straight to sleep.

This morning OH comes flying into the bedroom at 7.15am shaking me awake "Can't turn the cold water tap off ". Since he's running late I can't be bothered arguing so I get up, manage to turn the tap off (me being the weaker of the two of us  ) and go back to bed. OH eventually goes off to work and I get up, sorted and come down expecting a drainer full of clean pans or dishes and the glass in the bin. Do I h*ck as like  Only change in the kitchen from when I went up to watch my programmes is there is now more dishes and the toaster is out. You know the times when you could grab your loved one by the throat and slowly strangle them :rotfl: Whats so annoying is that OH spent all night on the computer when he said he would sort the kitchen out  He keeps blaming his poor memory and him "forgetting" but my question is now "How can you forget to wash the dishes but remember all sorts of passwords and other computer stuff without any problems  ?" *Rant off*

Well I had better get on with the dishes, try to find something to make for tea and then get on with the menu plan for the next month. Later

    Morning all,

    Happy Birthday Pink-Winged! :bdaycake:

Not been on here for ages. I'm really enjoying my new life as a SAHM. I woke up this morning at 7.30am to receive a huge bouquet of flowers from my wonderful OH. They came in the post in a box all the way from the Scilly Isles and are just beautiful.

Am off to Wales later in the week to stay with OH in his work-home. DS is off to his dad's for a bit. He has a 'date' on Friday with a girl from school (they are both 10). They are going bowling and he is sooooooo excited about it. He has been getting about 30 text messages a day, and sending as many back I should think. He even bought her a pretty little necklace to give her on Friday. How sweet! I have warned him about girls and that they are fickle and change their minds just as they please but I'm sure he will end up with a broken heart! (Protective mum instinct...)

I am having great success with the courgettes at the moment. We did a harvest this morning and have got 7 beautiful specimens. Now, where was that thread on courgette recipes?...... Seriously though, it gives a wonderful sense of satisfaction to be able to eat something you have grown yourself. We had some spuds at the weekend, grown in our old dustbin. OH was amazed at them. Here I am, proudly displaying our first crop!

Right, must go. I am Flyladying at the moment. I did a 27-fling boogie this morning as I an trying to de-clutter. I'll get off and do the hotspots!

    Bye!

    Nicki,

This is what would happen if I would not remind oh about five times to wash them before we go to bed. That's why, even though he gets annoyed with me nagging him, I don't give in...

General rule in our house is whoever cooks does not have to wash the dishes...

    I feel for you though...

I've had a great day so far. I was wakened at an ungodly hour this morning by the whole family sitting on my bed. They all gave me lovely pressies; perfume and a willow tree figurine from Mr Pink, anti wrinkle cream :o from my daughter and choccies from the boys. The nicest surprise of all was the children (without any help from Mr P) had had a picture taken of themselves and put it in a gorgeous frame.

I had breakfast in bed and Mr Pink is taking a half day to make lunch and then we're all going out somewhere, but they won't tell me where.

This evening, we're going out for dinner, just the two of us, so it looks like it's going to be a fantastic birthday....sort of makes up for being 43. :o Sort of but not quite.

I hope you all have a good day too. :)

Ps It was morning when I started this post.
