If these glasses are so vital to your job what was happening previously, or is it a new job?
Unless the optician promised the glasses would definitely be ready in 3 weeks without fail or you said you would only buy the glasses providing they would be ready in 3 weeks, I don't think you have much hope of "compensation".
Thank you; they did promise they'd definitely be ready in 3 weeks, hence I am unhappy about the delay.0 -
I told them I was unhappy and then emailed them explaining they'd broken the terms of the agreement and that therefore I was entitled compensation.

Thank you guys, you have been very helpful. You really give this forum a good name.
What do you want from the forum? Some to agree with you? Try the pet section for that.
If you believe you have a case go and either fill in a claim via the small claims court or hire a solicitor. Or cancel the order and buy elsewhere that will probably involve small claims again.
Apart from that there is nothing you can do apart from perhaps asking them for some sort of discount/voucher which they could well refuse.
As has been said if it was me I would either be camped on their doorstep or calling them once/twice a day until they pulled their finger out.
Otherwise there is not much you can do.0 -

What I wanted from the forum was simple, rudeness-free advice; perhaps from people who may have been through similar situations.
Therefore many thanks and good karma for those who helped.0
