Clean Toilet Brush

  • I used to hover over the toilet even at home for quite a number of years, but since reading it can cause damage to the bladder I now sit on the loo except when I'm using public toilets.

Loo brushes are about 50p in Tesco including a holder, I get new ones all round every month or so ( 3 toilets).
Same here, I get the 'Value' ones, of course!

What i really hate is seeing people come out of loos and not wash their hands. Ewwww.
I do sometimes wonder why I bother though - particularly in public loos where you have to open the external door to let yourself out. You just KNOW that even if you wash your hands thoroughly, in order to leave the room you will have to touch a door handle which is guaranteed to have been touched by numerous people who haven't bothered (especially the loos at London Bridge station - ewwwww!). I'm considering getting myself a little pump-bottle of that alcohol gel they have in hospitals - so I can "wash" my hands AGAIN after having touched the door handle!

I only go to a public toilet in an emergency, and i also carry some alcohol hand rub in my bag. I always hover in a public loo!!!!
I always put the lid down in my toilet (mind you, a public toilet with the lid down is normally suspicious!!!!) and have DS and DD trained to do so as well (and whoever DS marries should be grateful he doesnt leave the lid up!!!)
I used to have a toilet brush, but after seeing Kim and Aggie, ive gotton rid of mine (did have one of those harpic jobbies, but you still get the marks and germs on them like a normal toilet brush). Im quite happy to clean the toilet by hand, that way i know all of it has been done, and i always make sure ive washed my hands properly afterwards!!!
  • A friend of mine who is a cleaner cannot believe his eyes when he sees what his work colleagues do. The other cleaners use the same cloth to clean the sinks and toilets and they don't bother to wash their hands after. This is in a well known supermarket and the public toilets to boot!

Also they use the same mops and dirty water from the toilet floors to wash the store's floors with!

  • never ever sit on the seat of a public toilet - line with loo roll if you HAVE to sit down.

Just curious  what happens to you if you do sit on a public toilet seat ? I've been doing it for nearly 40 years now....I get the odd cold but apart from that nothing serious...... or have I just been lucky :D

:rotfl: I've been sitting on them for about 30 years and I'm still here too! If the back of my thighs come into contact with bacteria I'm not too concerned.... I don't use the back of my thighs for food preparation or similar....

A quick glance to check there are no puddles on the seat usually suffices ... though I don't like to touch door handles on the way out ;)
Just run, run and keep on running!
