Virgin Media

I think Virgin Media are great as long as you don't have any issues.
When I moved house I couldn't get broadband working because of a problem at the exchange, that was eventually revealed to be the problem after many many calls to VM on a premium rate number that I was forced to call.
Because it was ADSL they had to raise a fault with BT but four times they raised a fault that my phone line (ie. not ADSL as they should have) wasn't working. BT would only do a test on my phone line, not ADSL and reply that the phone line was working correctly. VM would they close the fault without contacting me and when I phoned up to chase it up I had to start from the beginning again.
Eventually they said they would ask BT to send an engineer out. The engineer arrived but couldn't do anything because VM put on the notes that my phone line wasn't working and he wasn't trained on ADSL faults. I think BT charged Virgin £150 for that balls up.
When I eventually told them to just cancel the contact they asked me if I would stay with them and accept a months free rental as an apology but added that I would have to agree to a 12 month contract if I did that. I don't know why they think I would agree to a 12 month contract for something that wouldn't work.0
