I have had a contract with them since June and am counting the days until I can cancel. Unfortunately, due to my being lied to I was duped into extending the term until November 2010!
Anyway:
Constant interruption to service on broadband. After have several engineers, changing router, using the service wired, buying new modem is STILL not working correctly.
It takes an age to get through to them.
When you do get through, you get through to someone who doesn't give a monkey's and just wants to get you off the phone.
Staff are poorly trained - I was once told that both of my computers must have developed the same fault with IE rather than admit the problem was their end - turns out they had a switch down.
Removing TV channels without notice, and constantly changing the numbers around so all pre programmed settings are screwed up.
That ended up being quite a rant anyway, I could go on ...
ive spoke to the customer service guys and the technical dept for broadband and they have been great,
which channels ahve they removed ?
is changing the channel numbers that big a deal ? im wityh virgin and the channel number changes haven't caused a problem
what pre programmed settings are screwed ?0 -
I've been with Virgin Media for a long time too and like most of you have very little to complain of about their service. I find their broadband advisors to be extremely helpful and patient0

VM have had there moments with me, but likewise I have to admit, I have been with them since they were NTL, my only gripe is the cost of a call to customer services when i get a fault.
I have to say in all these years, I rarely had any issues with VM, they offer the best BB service there is IMHO.0 -

I've been with Virgin since it was Telewest and have had a good service from them. Sky seems expensive compared to Virgin Media." The greatest wealth is to live content with little."

I must admit I did preferred it when NTL had it, as good as it still is, it went downhill when Virgin got there claws on it:A:dance:1+1+1=1:dance::A

I would say it has massively improved since it became Virgin Media. You can at least get through to them on the phone without waiting on hold for an hour.
NTL didn't even offer a PVR until Virgin came along and they have done quite well recently with HD Channels. The only down point was when they lost the Sky channels for a while probably wouldn't have happened if it was still NTL, I think Sky saw Bransons involvement (even though he just lets them use his brand name - doesn't actually run the company) as a threat.0 -

I am moving house in a fortnight and signed up for Virgin Media services to commence the day I moved in. Two days after making my application Virgin switched off the services for the current occupant of the house. He was not best pleased, and pleaded with me to ask Virgin to switch him back on. Apparently, Virgin told him they needed to hear from me before they could help him. A series of phone calls ended with Virgin Media saying they would need to cancel my application so that services could be resumed for their current customer. They said I would have to apply again later. I asked if they would still install on the same date and they couldn't guarantee so. And that's it -- my application to be a customer is in the bin, placed there by Virgin Media.0
