Virgin Media

I would love to have a long, long rant on here but instead I'll just send a strong warning to anyone contemplating going with Virginmedia. I have had a contract with them since June and am counting the days until I can cancel. Unfortunately, due to my being lied to I was duped into extending the term until November 2010!
Anyway:
Constant interruption to service on broadband. After have several engineers, changing router, using the service wired, buying new modem is STILL not working correctly.
It takes an age to get through to them.
When you do get through, you get through to someone who doesn't give a monkey's and just wants to get you off the phone.
Staff are poorly trained - I was once told that both of my computers must have developed the same fault with IE rather than admit the problem was their end - turns out they had a switch down.
Removing TV channels without notice, and constantly changing the numbers around so all pre programmed settings are screwed up.
That ended up being quite a rant anyway, I could go on ...

I have two accounts with VM. (two properties), strangely they both had issues with broadband at teh same time. BUT BUT BUT for years they have been fantastic, excellent.
However VM are far far far far better than Sky. Sky are truely awful. I hate the propoganda and the totally lack of customer support.
Seems you may of had a bit of bad run.0 -

Its not personal , we have all had that problem , its to do with Virgin giving us more HD channels , Should be grateful that the company is so forward looking.0 -

That's only to allow for HD they haven't done any changes for ages now really. Sky do it more often.0 -
Been with vm for years nowtv-phone-bb,excellent service:)0

VM have had there moments with me, but likewise I have to admit, I have been with them since they were NTL, my only gripe is the cost of a call to customer services when i get a fault.
I have to say in all these years, I rarely had any issues with VM, they offer the best BB service there is IMHO.:A:dance:1+1+1=1:dance::A

Been with them since it was Dial Up on Nynex, and although there have been one or two blips along the way, can't fault them at all, yea the service isn't brilliant when you call them, but they have always managed to sort out any blips we have had.
Engineers when they have come out have always been helpful and professional.
I used to have BT and Sky and wouldn't go back to them if they paid me.0 -
Yep, I would not even consider Sky or BT for BB, mind you I do remember the days of Nynex, I think in my days were called Cable & Wireless. I had a 56k (top of the range) Modem
.
I think the worse I remember for a service provider was Freeserve, but they were my first access to the internet at home, BB was never even heard of back then.:A:dance:1+1+1=1:dance::A

I used to think Virgin Media were bad so we gave them cancellation notice and moved to Sky... I quickly realised that Sky made Virgin Media look fantastic and luckily we managed to cancel Sky under the cooling off period and cancelled out cancellation with Virgin and stayed with them.If At First You Don't Succeed, Call It Version 1.00
