It's our own fault we are going half board, which adds £120!! (Still hoping they won't charge half board for the baby as he won't be eating anythign!) Linen charge for Butlins states £10 per person (quote: You may add bed linen, pillows and duvets to your package for an extra £10 per person per break.). Not going to take our own as we are travelling by train with a toddler and a baby, not sure how we're going to manage all the stuff we have to take let alone take extra stuff we don't need to!
I'm not complaining really, still the only way we could afford a holiday.Sorting my life out to give a better life to my:heartsmil 2 gorgeous boys :heartsmil0 -
I've got my bill here (for a 3 night break)
£60 accommodation
23.85 service charge
38 ents passes
11.50 linen
total £133.35
You would pay extra for a 4th nights service charge - but I don't see how they could charge such a huge amount for linen. I haven't checked any small print, but my charge is only £11.50 for a 3 night break in a 2 room standard chalet, for the 4 of us.
I can't remember the details, but I don't think they charge for babies ents passes either, but I could be wrong. Last year my mum put my nephew down on her list, although in the end he didn't come, and she was given tickets for his meals even though she hadn't been charged for him because he was too young to pay.52% tight0 -
We haven't had our bill through yet, this is what I'm working out so far:
Holiday charge to Sun )already Paid) = £39.50
£7.95 service charge per night = £31.80
£9.50 per person ent passes (kids free on midweek break) = £19
£10 per person Linen Charge = £40
£10 per person per day Half board = £120 (if don't charge for baby!)
so £250.30 in total. Waiting to see when bill comes through if this is right, but this is what I'm budgetting on at the moment.
How old was your nephew? My other boy is 2, would be good if they decided not to charge for him either!!! Bit cheeky tho!!Sorting my life out to give a better life to my:heartsmil 2 gorgeous boys :heartsmil0 -
I can't seem to find anything for Butlins, Minehead - is there an easy way to search just one place.

my nephew might have been under 2. I can't remember when the holiday was, sorry. Also I think my mum applied for the holiday when he was 1, so she put 1 on the form, but there was 8 months between booking the holiday and going on the holiday.52% tight0

I can't find anything on their website. It says child and adult prices for the restaurants, but it doesn't say what age you start paying for them.52% tight0

Thank you to the OP for the link, I have booked also for Butlins at Skegness. Just wondered though - will they ask for vouchers or anything on arrival. Have been looking through the Mirror camping offer today and on this it states that the vouchers are necessary, it just got me a bit panicked that this would also apply to the Sun offer.
Thanks in advance

Does anyone know if this is now the way you are able to book sun holidays from now on, ie online withouth having to have a priority code, or if this is a one off? As someone's already said , the Sun have never done this before, so maybe the next lot of holidays will be back to collecting tokens in the paper, if you haven't been lucky enough to recieve a priority booking form.
I have been waiting for the holidays to start again in the paper, as someone on another forum said that they usually start up again end of march/begining of april. Already have a break booked for september with them , but did a dummy run last night for weekend in Devon cliffst in October and it was available:j,- at a saving of £80.
Hope this is the norm from now on, and not just a one off. Just came back from a DM short break, and the beauty of that was that you could book online, and know you had secured your holiday there and then.
Strange there was no mention of these in the Sun newspaper, unless i missed it. Only buy it for the holidays.0 -
I am just guessing but probably basic x0
