Small OP of £10 made from selling a slide - not a bad return on something bought 14 years ago for DD and used since by 2 of her brothers and 2 of my cousins children. Paid £20 :D:D

Elsewhere I now have 2 children broken up for the Summer and 2 still to go. Want them all off! :)

Well, all of them have now been broken up for at least a week and so far it's going ok.... :D We've been out for a day to a local playground with friends of the smaller 2. DD came along, DS1 stayed at home. Was very hot and DD and I went pink, but small 2 ok (we were wearing more suncream than them, too!!) Was also free and the park was so good I've suggested to a different group of friends that we go.

Yesterday they went out with mil for the day :D

ON a not so mfw note, I've had to buy a new iron (steam gen one) because mine went bang and kept tripping the electrics. Also bought a new George Foreman grill (ours was really old (10+ years) and I threw it out a few months ago as there was no non stick left) - but it was mega reduced in the sale, a much bigger one and is sleek and shiny black. Our main oven also went bang but I have a policy for that (phew!) and it's being repaired tomorrow. The Virgin box also went bang - but Virgin came out with a new one....

DD has the possible chance of visiting the HP tour in London for free! :D She is very excited. Should get confirmation in the next day or two. Should hopefully only cost me food whilst she's there (3 days/ 2 nights)

Back on the mortgage front - I've just OPd £15 (cash for clothes) - to sub acct 01..... as we've now paid off sub acct 02!:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j It was due to be repaid next week when the DD goes out, but I phoned up and did it a few days early - saving about 60p in interest:rotfl::D Have instructed c&g to put DD at £1500 from Sept, meaning our OPs to sub acct 01 will be £900+ per month, + any extras we pay - this will mean that acct starts to reduce quite quickly:T I need another £150 to knock another month off, so that's my next target. However, DH has STILL not done his expenses :mad: and we are short on funds this month from that and back pension paymemts - grrrrr!! Have just paid the cc bills (fully except the int free one - where we now owe £2750 - and we need to pay that back over the next 6 months...)

Have had a man around to quote for some work this week - that'll be quite a few ££ but it needs doing. Also calculated that returfing the back lawn (turf and topsoil) cost about £650!:eek: It does look lovely, though.. The new stuff just needs watering in this heat (early and late in the day) to make sure it doesn't fry and die before it's bedded in..

    Morning all :)

£15 OP made from selling 4 very small things on ebay! :D Well, it all helps :D

Mortgage payment has gone out, but I can't confirm OP amount as C& G have messed up re closing sub acct 02. They didn't take the money to close the acct last month, so DD went out - but they only took the standard amount, leaving a balance.... so I overpaid enough to clear that and interest and some extra which I'm now waiting to get back into my current acct. I've paid £500 to sub acct 01 OP in the meantime - but am waiting to see how much comes back before I OP any more. Grrrr! AND it appears that they've messed up the DD amount for Sept - so when all of this is sorted I'll phone and change that!! I abhor inefficiency!

DD is definitely going to see the Harry Potter tour in London this weekend - free tour, travel and hotel :D:D Just food to pay for (not breakfasts - inc in hotel) and some spends (although she'll take some of her own money, too)

We've had a reasonable amount of rain this week, so the new turf is picking up and looking less crispy around the edges! :) Estimate for work upstairs has arrived and is good - but we've had to put it on hold as the new bedroom doors we want are out of stock :(

Ooh - I took the new iron mentioned above back - was absolutely useless. Bought a much better spec one for only £10 more and it's fab! Ironing mountain has reduced nicely and is now the size of a large hill, rather than a mountain range ;)

School hols are going well - we haven't done much, but I've actually enjoyed chilling and catching up on housework (and paperwork) - amazing how much I'm getting done with 4 home - not having to watch/ amuse the 3year old for most of the time helps - the bigger 3 come in handy there! Obviously I still do stuff with him (and all of them) but having the 3 boys playing together for several hours in the room next to me whilst I'm cleaning is much easier!

ETA: in doing some paperwork I've reclaimed some old expenses and OP'd another £200 to the mortgage and £250 to the CC :D Now if I can just get DH to get his up straight (or even a few months of them done.....!! Grrrr!!)

Well, DH has STILL not claimed any expenses (going to back to Feb 1st) and admits it's well into several £000. He has also missed the cut off to get it paid this month - and so if he ever does get around to claiming it we won;t receive it until the end of Sept at the earliest :(:( Am soooo cross with him. He has always been appalling at claiming but this time there is a very real possibility they wont pay out on the earliest claims as they're now so old :( I am now juggling money around trying to make sure we stay in credit. We're not here next week (in Devon in an area of incredibly poor reception for mobiles) The matter is at its worst this month because DH received less salary last month due to back pension payments. C&G have also messed up on the mortgage - they ended up taking the closing balance for sub acct 02 after they'd taken the 'normal' payment and I'd OP'd to repay it in full. This means that they owe us about £375, which I have no idea when I'm getting it back - and neither do they!! They have also after 2 attempts not managed to set the DD at the correct amount for Sept - third attempt today - let's see if that will work...

DH is now pee'd off at me because I've nagged him about his expenses yet again. He said that he's had other stuff on his mind but no one ever listens. Well if he's not forthcoming about any issues then how the hell am I meant to know if there are any...??? He ALWAYS bottles things up. I know he's on a bit of a downer at the mo (history of severe depression on and off over a long period) but if I ask too much I'm nagging - and if I don't ask then I don't care.... grrrr! I have to say that I do sometimes take the 'don't ask' approach, because he won't tell me anyway and he gets angry with me and the children, so it's for a more peaceful life for all of us that I won't push it :(

Argh! :( I just want a nice and peaceful and non stressy life :(

Normal service will be resumed shortly... hopefully

    oh dear sounds very stressy.

You do have every right to be annoyed about the expenses, i would be!! annoys me when he lends family money and doesnt get it back for weeks, and then its only £50 or so....

Also having the same problem with C&G about payments they have twice set up my DD for the wrong amount (perhaps we were speaking to same person!) so i ended up just doing it manually by faster payment as i was sick of calling them to try and resolve, just have to make sure im disciplined enough to remember every month!!

    So is Mr GG ;).
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

And the only reason my husband claims his expenses is that I do the accounts for his company!! He would never bother.

I'm not a fan of expenses - particularly cut-off days as you say, if you miss it, it is about 7 weeks until you see it again. I think if you pay hundreds or thousands out of your own money in expenses you should be allowed a company credit card. I'll get off my soapbox now :D
