Thank you
I like having a March birthday - the days are longer and it's far enough away from Xmas that I can usually come up with some ideas for presents (although I really dislike it when Mothering Sunday and my bday fall on the same day! - thankfully not the case this year) And Spring flowers are probably my favourite, I think
Have just been listing things on flebay - urgh! (there's a fvf offer on of £1 max, rather than 10%) Hopefully some of them will sell. I still have more things to list, but I'm not sure I can face much more today! Have a bunch of things belonging to the children to list on fbook, too - although as they are mostly books and games I may well wait until closer to the Easter hols and suggest them as boredom busters
Watching the hit on the markets is.... interesting.... Our transferring pensions will take a hit - although should recover before we need them (10 years) My ISA has lost most of its gains, too - but again, am sure it will recover. I plan on putting some more money in there (buy whilst it's low in price...) before the end of the tax year
Monthly int for BTL mtge has gone through. Total for both parts for the month is around £104. January was the last month we will ever be charged in excess of £100/ mth for the large part (assuming int rates remain as they are....) and my next target is to get the monthly int for the 2 parts combined to below £100/ mth. That's currently set to be achieved in Sept of this year (assuming OPs of £524/ mth) so it would be nice to bring that forward by a month or 2 at the least
My sister is back in hospital - after being seizure free for 8 months (and having had a phased withdrawal from anti seizure meds from Dec - end Jan) she had a seizure last weekend and another yesterday - was released from hosp on Weds and then back in yesterday. They need to check her new MRi results against one from 2 weeks ago to see if there was a stroke as well or *just* seizures. She does have some minor weakness on one side... We shall see how things pan out......

Hugs for you and your sister, greent. Hope they can find a way forward for her.

I hope your Sister continues to recover. It is never a straight-line though. I do hope these are minor impediments and can be overcome

Thank you
She's since had another seizure - but a minor one this time, so hasn't gone back in to hospital. They've given a diagnosis of post-stroke epilepsy. I'm not sure exactly what implications this has going forwards - I shall see her on Friday, I think, so can find out some more then.
Nipped into Tesc0 earlier with DS3 - was amazed how much the shelves have been emptied - the soap aisle was cleared! (not that I wanted any - I just had a look) I did pick up 2 packs of paracetamol, as I know we've only got 1 1/2 in - and they wouldn't last long if anyone was ill (with anything) - normally I wouldn't be concerned about running out, as Tesc0 is only a mile or so away but it looks like people have stockpiled. I shall get a bottle of calp0l in next time, too and that'll do for now, unless anyone actually uses any for headaches or whateverGot some good YS bargains, though (only a few)
Booked our UN1versal park tickets last night for Florida - we already have the D1sney ones (combo doesn't work for the holiday for us) Just need to check who wants to go to Space Centre and see Blue Man Group and get those ordered, too(Think BMG will just be DH and I, but Space Centre may be everyone....) Also need to sort ESTAs for 6 (DH already has one from a work trip) and book parking - last item being a priority this weekend. That should be everything then, I think - we still need to make final payment on the villa (and get bestie's share off them) but all moneys are sat ready
Am quite glad we have no Easter hol travel plans, though....!

It has not occurred to me to go and stockpile anything - our next challenge is meeting friends in London on 26th March in a pub for a planning meeting. I may have to raid the glovebox of the car for a handbag-sized hand gel (I hear just the alcohol ones are effective, not the anti-bacterial... because it is a virus, not a bacteria). Other than that good old gloves and handkerchiefs/tissues I think.
No issue with running out of soap here - I still have a barely touched batch of castille soap. Let me know if you run short...Save £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £4863.32 out of £6000 after May (81.05%)

It hadn't occurred to me, either - I'd seen some reports that people were doing so and was surprised to see very clear evidence in Tesc0 - apparently toilet rolls are also being bought up.....!
We had lots of hand gels (not entirely sure why, tbh) so some time just before Xmas I put most of them in the homeless donation point, just keeping the 3 open ones (1 of which has maybe 2 uses left, at most) I'm not a fan - I'd rather soap and hot water but it's handy to have some around for DofE expeditions.
Was interesting listening to a group of y13s at work today (so 17 and 18 yos) - they were really knowledgeable about it and not going silly - and dont want any school closures because of their A level exams - sensible studentsI am the master of my fate; I am the captain of my soulRepaid mtge early (orig 11/25) 01/09 £124616 01/11 £89873 01/13 £52546 01/15 £12133 07/15 £NILNet sales 2024: £206 -
I have resisted stockpiling, but we do bulk buy loo roll, foil, kitchen roll etc anyway from a green retailer so I will go into the loft this evening and see how the stocks are. Does feel like a calm before the storm and seriously couldn’t imagine things like summer festivals or exams being cancelled, but who knows. All seems like it’s ticking along for you greent, sounds good. Hope school allocation was Ok too, didn’t see that you’d mentioned it ..but maybe I missed it.
Have a great Sunday

As well as the "more than usual" supply of loo roll (thanks to my once-a-year visit to the big cash and carry my friend goes to), I have a jar of aloe vera gel and a bottle of rubbing alcohol. I have a recipe for homemade gel - quarter cup of ale vera gel, half cup of alcohol, few drops of tea-tree or peppermint oil, mixed and fill your empty container.
