Sorry to hear you have the lurgy, hope you feel better soon. Our lives sound so similar with a combination of Uni visits, food top ups and cleaning included! Off to visit DS3 this weekend which will probably involve a shopping trip and lunch. Still, always lovely to see them. Am just debating whether to peg out laundry. It's blowing a gale so should dry, but the rain clouds look a little ominous. Will give it a go. Good luck to DD with the scholarship applications. Yeay - the lurgy has finally gone! :j :j - it's nice to have some energy this week!
Not much has been happening in greent-land - smaller OP than usual to BTL this month, as I've had to pay ground rent for the year (boo hiss) However, at least we've still been able to OP :T
OH is tired with the new job - to be expected. Weekends seem to disappear in a flash, especially as we've had stuff on each one so far (and no different for the next 2) He is wfh next Friday, as he has an appointment. If it goes well, I think he may look to wfh 1 day/ week in a month's time - means more nights at home/ week than away - which is a better balanceThis weekend we are going to my nan's house on Sat morning (tomorrow
) to collect a piece of furniture and some ornaments and then take them to the care home. We'll obviously need to stay there a while, too (bit rude to run in and out) but the journey time involved alone is around 90 mins or more and the smalls have things to do, so sadly I won't be staying long (I prefer to go and see her on a weekday - weekends are ideally spent as nuclear-family time - plus she can be show-off-y and nasty tempered if too many people are around) I've finally sent off all the paperwork to the Court of Protection for Deputyship order to be able to deal with her financial affairs/ sell her house - a LPA would have been so much easier, but her Alzheimer's is too advanced for her to have capacity to agree!
Am enjoying Prolific surveys - my earnings this year are around £75 :T - much better than youg0v etc (for me) I'm hoping I average just over £20/ mth throughout the year - I've set myself a goal of £250 (have never done it before, so no idea if that's achievable) All money, when cashed out, is - of course - going to the Florida Fund! That's been a bit slow this month - but my invigilation wages are paid next week, so that will be a nice addition
DD and boyfriend are flat hunting for next year at uni - they love their current flat but hadn't decided to stay on to do their Masters until after it had to be re-advertised, so it has already been re-let for next year. As the lease ends 30th June and all new ones begin 1st July, it's annoying, as any furniture items therefore have to be brought home, even if only temporarily - argh!!

Just catching up....sorry you’ve had so much illness. Sounds like the older ones are reallly getting on with it all tho. You should be proud.
Shorter, living away contracts are a pain. I am not missing commuting in my new role at all and next month am really going to try to do more remote working too. Makes me so much less tired and also as you say makes weekends feel longer, even when they obviously aren’t

I'm so glad we got mum's LPA done just before she deteriorated too much. It has made things so much easier.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0

Thanks, brizzle - I am very proud of all of them
Ah, apple - I know! I wasn't involved in the paperwork until it was too late for an LPA - I've achieved so much more in the 4/5 weeks I've been involved than everyone else did in the months beforehand.... Fingers crossed there are no queries from CoP and it all goes ahead ok. If any of my aunts/ uncles wish to object to it, they are more than free to fill out their own set of paperwork - I have literally spent hours and hours completing stuff, chasing up info etc! And a deputyship means more ongoing work, with an annual report (and fees!) - grrr
Went to see my Nan - stayed about 90 mins and then she went for a nap. It wasn't a good day - she was upset and talking nonsense (which I can deal with ok) and her room (and her clothes) were messy and dirty - have left that for my mum to pick up with the home. Her face did light up at 2 ornaments we took in from her house though - which was nice to see. I also brought a pile of things home from her house, have cleaned them all, and added them to the CS pile. Will aim to pop in again (to her house) in the week if it's her bin collection week, as it's now full..... and collect more things for cleaning and taking to CS. Trying to get as organised as poss on the house front, so that it is clear ready for selling when Deputyship order is through.
Just had yummy dinner of Chicken kiev, jkt potato and baked corn on cob. Not particularly healthy or balanced (although calories were only 707) but was very tastyAnd I still have enough calories left for some 70% choc with Casualty later on! (I know how to live!

I joined Prolific a year ago in February and and am up to just short of £350 so would say its definitely doable. I found the number of surveys that came up for me did dwindle for a while but its picked up again.0 -

So.…. Tax Credits bill now paid
Have also initiated switch for energy to She11 - payments upped to £145/ mth. I could have found it slightly cheaper, but they were with companies I'd never heard of. Fixed until 07/2020, so that's that sorted. £30 cashback, too, hopefully. When/ if cback arrives, I will tfr it to Florida Fund (currently at £4.6k :T)
Talking of cashback, I also chased a couple of long outstanding small payments with tcb - I suspect one will disappear (House of Frazzzer) but I'd like it removed in that case, just for tidy-ness sake
And on the subject of tidiness, I suppose I should now get on with some housework!
xx
(feels like Friday - I'm going to be sooo disappointed come 6am tomorrow when my alarm goes off! :rotfl:)I am the master of my fate; I am the captain of my soulRepaid mtge early (orig 11/25) 01/09 £124616 01/11 £89873 01/13 £52546 01/15 £12133 07/15 £NILNet sales 2024: £200 -
