Haha! Well, the grass cutting didn't happen in the end as the shower change was a disaster - cue ordering a new shower cubicle (when we find one - ours is discontinued, so can't go for straight like for like and we need a D shaped one as it's one a gable end wall - with limited width at highest point..... Need new tiles, some plaster board - and may as well get someone in to do it, I feel..... ho hum.....

Grass didn't grow last winter here - and the piggies were on bare scraps of it come Spring!

Sooooo.... other than shower-destroying and the non-grass cutting, not much is happening here at Green Towers :/ Have transferred £10 to BTL mtge this week (current account debit tidies (save the change, as Ll0yds call them) and £15 to kitchen fund (ebay - sale of a drawer from old fridge freezer) and £25 to DS3 from sale of toys. Washing & ironing are up straight (well, 1 load is on line as I type) and the house is a tip everywhere other than that. Am just not feeling it this week - everything is an effort and I'm mega tired. Really looking forward to half term holiday - hopefully some major r&r time for us all!

Aside from that grump, all is well. Some Xmas shopping has been done. The crème de mures is half done (will finish at weekend) and I'm hopeful of getting some pay from invigilating job #1 this month (yeay for money! - although it's already all allocated!!)

Will aim to be in a better frame of mind next time ;)

This half term is a long one isn't it. I was saying to a friend earlier that the month has flown yet our holiday (came home 3 weeks ago) feels like so long ago.

I do like the idea of shopping from the loft. Thankfully we are gifted various bundles of clothes/school uniform so like yourself just need to fill in the gaps.

Hope your energy returns, maybe some Autumnal sunshine would help.

:) Am feeling somewhat better now :) Payday last Fri - all money shuffles have been done - and we are definitely cash poor this month! Still, we'll be fine - I'm going to resist transferring any money back! :D

Small OP to BTL today - am very much liking it being back on online banking so I can check it obsessively! :D We've been OPing it less than a year and I can see the difference. This time next year OH's car will be fully repaid (can't wait!) and then all systems go! (assuming no disasters.....)

In other news - we have 4.5litres of crème de mures! :D:D

I don't plan on touching any of it myself until Xmas (I rarely drink - I can honestly say my alcohol consumption is nil most weeks) but have a bottle ready for best neighbour & some bottled up for Xmas gifts (thought that DS3's teachers (job share) could have a small bottle each, along with a bottle of prosecco (we have half a dozen bottles of prosecco untouched in garage which people keep giving it us - we'll only drink max 2 over Xmas/ NY) :)

Grey, dismal day here. Should hopefully dry up, but I don't think it's going to particularly warm up. DS3 has a swimming lesson in an hour and then my mum is meant to be taking him and DS2 to Slimbridge WWT with my aunty and my cousin's 2 boys (similar ages to my smallest 2) - will need to persuade boys they need warm coats on for there!

Off out for a curry with friends tonight - should be good :) DS1 is looking after the smalls :)

Money news - had renewal through for house insce @ £428 - got improved cover with a well-known 5* defaqto rated co for £341 + £80 cashback - decent result! Could have got cover for £190 with higher excess and some lesser cover but prefer it this way. Plus it covers DD's belongings at uni - which saves us the cost of a separate insce policy for that (only c £50, but still a saving) And paid premium on M&S cc, so should gain a few reward points too :)

Small flebay sale literally just made, so will transfer rounded up net amount to kitchen fund :) Also need to post DD's glasses off to her at the same time - the dopey girl left them here! She cooked fakeaway Nand0s for her and bf last night - that's my girl! :D

Rent due from tenants this week, so will then be able to make another reasonable OP to mtge - definitely slow going, but over £6k capital paid off since this time last year, so not to be sniffed at :) Also spent £2k on electrical works there earlier this year (still need to get boxed in cabling chased in - didn't realise the electricians would do that - but need tenants to be away on hols as it is very messy work and kitchen will be out of action for much of the week (chasing it in to hard black cinder-block walls takes ages, then replastering, letting it dry and then repainting) OH is more than capable of doing it - but need him to be at home at the same time tenants are away. Tradesmen aren't interested in it as it's such a piece-meal job - few hours one day, few hours the next, couple of days gap, then painting (an hour or two tops) - I can get someone to do it, but at a heavy premium price as they want 3.5-4 full days pay - which I totally understand the reasoning behind, but am not prepared to pay. Tenants aren't keen on the boxing, but I did say that it's far better to have ugly boxing and it all be safe and legally compliant than the previous flat walls hiding unsafe, illegal wiring. Plus it's only the kitchen and it does run straight along skirting boards and along the upstand of the worktop. (I'm sure I'd dislike it too - but I'd prefer knowing it was safe)

Other than that - 2 weeks today - we'll be flying to Portugal - yeay!!!!! :D:D:D

Did a long post yesterday but laptop decided to randomly restart before I'd finished it so I lost it - and cba-ed to do it again!

Quicker post this morning before tackling some overdue-housework :)

Shall definitely have some of those little custard tarts whilst we're in Portugal, kc - they're yummy!

Oldest pig (4) has been to vet this week she hasn't been herself and has lost weight and had some scabby fur/ bald patches. No mites, but a possible skin flare up, so a short course of antibiotics, daily bathing with hibiscrub (antiseptic solution) and see how she goes. They're at the g-pig boarding place whilst we're away - who use the same vets as us and are an amazing place, so I have no real concerns. Wasn't a bad price at £41 for the time (took about 20 mins) and antibs/ hibi too :)

Smallest child is currently away on a school residential trip (y4) - form yesterday until tomorrow afternoon. He was terribly excited! Thankfully, his wobbly tooth fell out a couple of days ago, so no need for delayed tooth fairy visits! :) Taking him away from the equation made for a very calm evening - was just me and DS2 until 8.15, as DS1 was helping at an evening event at school. Was quite surprised at just how much difference it made!

Rent is in, so it has been mostly sent as an OP to BTL mtge:T Next month will see us down in another K bracket always a good feeling :) And have sent just over £300 to kitchen fund this week :j

Right - can't put it off any longer :( - time to get on and clean.... :)
    xx
