Just curious... what does everyone's engagement ring look like?

me and the OH picked it together (so we would have it when he asked my mum and dad for permission) and after looking for only 2 days i fell in love with a single square asscher cut diamond and a platinum band.

the asscher cut is similar to an emerald cut but for a square diamond, it's not a common cut (but it seems to be getting more popular) but in comparison to the other choice i'd narrowed it down to it beat it by a mile lol!

so, what's yours like and did you OH pick it for you or did you pick it together.

seriously though OH chose it 9 years ago on his own then proposed
its a sapphire,dont know what cut, surrounded by teeny tiny diamonds-which just looks like an oval shaped white metal on a yellow gold ring, it seems 80's!
but i could never get another one because of the sentiment and i never take it off!

i only take mine off at night (last thing i do before i go to sleep) and it goes back on first thing in the morning... i've just never managed to get comfortable sleeping with it on and if it doesn't come off i always have a ring dent in my face in the morning! :rotfl:

Mine only comes off to put stuff in my hair when drying and to put on handcream. Its a 3-diamond Criss-cut, 18ct gold with platinum setting from Beaverbrooks. Its the same as this but in yellow gold, not platinum (they don't sell the yellow gold one any more, I've had it since 2006!) here

OH chose it, I had chosen a smaller (cheaper) one but when he went shopping for it he decided this looked nicer

18ct white gold, almost 1ct. I love it and have not seen quite the same setting anywhere else (although you can't see the side on the pic!)

Mine's a princess cut (square) diamond set in white gold. He picked it and he did good! Bless him. I love it, very 'me' and set slightly differently to most that I've seen. Wish we could all upload pics so we can all see the pretties Oh well...

This is mine, 9ct White gold, 0.25ct brilliant cut diamond surrounded by white gold.

I had selected a similar one which was a 0.10ct but h2b said I should have something better bless!

Here's my 0.62ct D VVS2 platimum engagement ring with two diamond baguettes. I absolutely LOVE it. We went to Hatton Garden and chose it together.

I only take it off at night - I'd probably end up scratching my face with it otherwise!
