  • Looking at what you have done, your comparisons aren't like for like.....18m v 12 m in total. That way the 18m refurb phone should be the better deal......but are out of stock again.

    Your comparisions are very interesting, you might be right that PAYG is the best option.

    The points that come to mind are...

    1- You have a higher initial outlay, with buying the I-phone

    2- Once the 12 month contract expires, how easy will it be to find another SIM only contract if you wish to keep using the same I-phone . Will the monthly costs have risen by then?

    3- If you go this route would the higher tariff with high cashback be better
    Quidco -
    £160 cashback for ALL 12 month SIM Only £25+ tariffs (including iPhone)

    Not sure is '£25+' includes the £25 tariffs?

    If it does -

    via quidco
    3Gs 16gb new on PAYG = £449 (no cashback)
    simplicity 12 iphone 12x 25 = £300 (£160 cashback)
    900min + unltd txt + unltd data
    Total = £589

    Yes cheaper, but paying extra £49 you get a brand new Gs 16Gb model.
    It is available on their home page for new customers, so I reckon it is in sotck
    Plus £120 for extra 6mths (12 + 6 =18), yes the 3G refurb might be the "best" choice

    Sure, forgot to mention that I have the £449 to pay upfront for the handset.

    I am a very light user, but want a smartphone to get data while on the go.
