So tax body builders, rugby players and other sportspeople who have a high BMI* but low body fat percentage?
(*BMI figures don't work for people who work out)"I can hear you whisperin', children, so I know you're down there. I can feel myself gettin' awful mad. I'm out of patience, children. I'm coming to find you now." - Harry Powell, Night of the Hunter, 1955.0 -

That would include body builders and most people who hold more than an average amount of muscle.
I think a lot of sports people would be classed as obese.
Also to do BMI are they going to measure everyone going in to the restaurants?0 -
you know one when you see one - that's good enough for me0

lol that was exactly why I asked that leading question so I could answer "so every rugby player would be taxed extra?" but got distracted and by the time i came back everyone had done it!!
So how many people will be employed to check up on all the professional sportsmen then?
And I presume you will more highly tax underweight people too - they are also at higher risk of health problems & "being a drain on the NHS".
And also the people who are at normal weight but who do not regularly exercise; perhaps they could have a special mid-tier of tax; since they are at more risk than those who do exercise.
Also people who smoke, and of COURSE those drink more than the NHS's recommended daily upper limits. They should be hugely taxed; alcohol and smoking contribute massively to ill health.
And finally all those who don't eat 5 servings of fruit and veg a day.0 -

I know it's just a laugh......
but my views are starting to look normal compared to this sh1te."The problem with quotes on the internet is that you never know whether they are genuine or not" -
